I was at the MK on Saturday and saw Davy Crockett Doanld too and was very surprised as I had never seen him before. Alas, I did not get a photo, i should have but i didnt.

Hey Summer Great pic of all of us and it was wonderful to see you again in person but it was way too short! Next trip we'll plan a day or two when Christine is off of school as she and Jessie really hit it off and it's a shame they couldn't play longer.

Yeah we saw the construction site of the new housing development Disney is planning to build on property and it got Julie and I talking about moving down there in a year or two... The housing in the area appears to be dirt cheap compared to the Washington DC area, we saw one house for sale online with 8 bedrooms, 5 baths for like 550k in Kissime, although I don't know how good of an area that is that's a lot more house than we currently have for a lot less than ours is worth right now...

There is no such thing as a "good job" in Orlando. People who are moving over here, especially lured by the faux magic that WDW offers are out of their rockers, IMHO.

Well being that I work in IT there are some good jobs there, much better than where I currently work in Tallahassee which is about 70% govt jobs. I teach at a small university, we have a branch in Orlando, I keep checking to see if they open another faculty position in my dept. I might just jump on it if they do.

LOL no in our case it's not that bad really, I work from home and well can work anywhere, as does my wife, so why not work someplace fun where I don't have to shovel snow 3 months out of the year and has a much lower cost of living? My only requirement really is to have an international airport about an hour away from my house in case I get an emergency call to go on site somewhere... Orlando would not be a bad fit for us realy the only change is moving down there now rather then when I retire. It would also make it much cheaper for us to do the frequent trips we do to WDW and DCL since we would not have the airfare AND would have the benifit of the local AP discounts... I really don't see any downside from my POV.

Current thinking is to buy one or two properties anyway and rent them out as vacation homes to cover the mortgage costs and upkeep and then move into one and possible sell or give the other to our daughter when she moves out. If we do more than two then it's a good source of retirement income when we sell or lease them out with all the bargains out here right now it's not a bad move at all... provided we don't continue to loose all our money that we inested in the market...

Mmhmm Orlando consistently makes the Top 10 list for IT related jobs, it's a great argument for me since my honey is getting his certifications.

When we were there in the beginning of September we saw Frontierland Donald. I asked in Toontown if Donald was there so we could get out picture taken with the Sailor Suit Donald and they said he'd been moved to Frontierland. The CM didn't know why though. I guess to add some variety to the characters?

I guess IT jobs must be plentiful... which makes me wonder why are people holding degrees in several careers yet still working in housekeeping at WDW....
