Where is that magical place for you?

Let's face it, Disney is something you either "get" or you "don't" and everyone has that place in the World that invokes that feeling. That magical feeling of joy and happiness that you experience at Walt Disney World and what calls us all back every visit.

So where is that magical place for you? Is it when you see Cinderella's castle, standing tall and beautiful at the end of Main Street or when you enter Epcot and the entrance music gets your ready for what you know will be a fun filled day.

I know my personal place is when I see the joy on my kids faces just emanating with glee, you just can't buy that kind of magic.

So tell me yours, I'd love to hear it!

Wow, there are many...

The big WDW sign at the main entrance. (Yay, we're finally here!)
Watching kids attempt to pick up lights from the sidewalks of Epcot at night.
Riding in the pilot compartment of the monorail.
The statues of Walt and Roy.
Living Seas before it got Nemo'd. (Not that it's bad now, just not as 'magical' as it used to be.)
The combination of architecture, landscaping and background music (I guess that would collectively be called ambiance?) in some areas of Future World and Tomorrowland.
The Horizons attraction.

The old upstairs Image Works. So sadly I haven't been able to go there for a long time.

Walking down Main Street (I jump up and down like a little kid still)

Sitting at the animation desks in the Animation class at Hollywood Studios

Getting in line to get my picture taken with Donald

Watching my boyfriend trade pins (I think he's just secretly a big Disney fan!)

That one is when I really get happy, I am here!!

My son is too little to get excited about going, so I just love it when he meets the characters. He gets so excited seeing them walk around and come up to him, it is really magical.

So many, but to name a few:

When you first get a glimpse of The Tree of Life at DAK.
Working my way around Town Square and finally seeing Cindy's Castle.
Walking down Sunset Blvd. with TOT standing at the end of the street.
Sitting outside The Electric Umbrella and watching the Fountain of Nations at Epcot.

Re: Where is that magical place for you?

I get excited from the moment I get to the airport.

Seeing all the attraction billboards.
Riding on the Friendships between Boardwalk and EPCOT/Studios.
The roar of Test Track as you approach the building.
Living With The Land. Not just a place to rest your weary feet.
Every view of and around World Showcase Lagoon.
Walking under Spaceship Earth and being amazed that it really is an attraction.

I have lots of those places. I will just name a few.

1. When you first see Main Street after walking through the tunnel.
2. All of NOS.
3. The entrance into Adventureland.

Re: Where is that magical place for you?

For some reason, the area between innoventions and The Land.

There is nothing there, nothing much to see, nothing to do. For some reason, when I am in that area, especialy when I hear that background music, it just clicks for me.

It really makes no sense. Nothing special has ever happend to me there. I once took a 45 minute conference call for work in that area, but I doubt thats it But, thats my story and I am sticking to it.

Re: Where is that magical place for you?

I gotta go with going through the tunnel and seeing the Main Street cul-de-sac (for lack of a better term) with the performers, the vehicles and the themed buildings around. Then again when I take the turn onto Main Street and get my first glimpse of the castle. Nothing in that park is as magical as those moments, and that says NOTHING bad about the rest of the park.

At Epcot, there is, for me, something magical about going into the area behind SSE by the fountain, and just looking around and listening to the music. Gives me goosebumps.

The other two parks, for me, have no such magical moments. I wonder why that is?

Re: Where is that magical place for you?

In Disney World it would probably be the monorail ride from the TTC to the Main Entrance Plaza. It reminds me that I'm heading into the parks for some fun and brings a smile to my face.

In Disneyland, its just about anywhere in the Disneyland Park. Something about being in Walt Disney's playground that gives me a huge sense of Disney nostalgia. Things like the Tiki Room, Mark Twain Riverboat, and other attractions where Walt had a direct affect on them.

On both coasts (and probably any Disney park with one) being aboard the train has lots of pixie dust. Thanks to my huge boyhood love of trains and the fact that I consider that something I have in common with Walt it makes me smile.

I've never been to WDW, so I'll speak of Disneyland....

For me, the magical place is the Mickey & Friends parking structure - ever since I've been able to drive it always excites me for some reason...

Re: Where is that magical place for you?

For WDW, I loved the endless hallway in the Haunted Mansion.

For DL, although it's been 16 years since I was there, I loved the Hungry Bear. Sitting next to the RoA feeding the ducks was awesome.
