So with PI closed, what are you going to do at night?

I was thinking, PI has been closed for a couple weeks now and I was wondering what folks are doing during the week at night with most of the parks closing at 8-9pm each night? Has Jellyrolls and the other boardwalk clubs taken up the slack? Is the west side and Marketplace sectors in downtown Disney more or less crowded? Are more and more people going off property to the dinner shows and late night entertainment of property?

Me personally... I live real close to CityWalk so I become a star for a night at Rising Star!

I'm not a late night person anyway, but I'd say that after a stroll at Downtown Disney - I'd head back to my resort and call it a day.

Considering that out of all the times I visited Disney I only went to PI once (for the comedy club) I'll do the same thing I always did. Probably go to dinner in the park, watch the end of night fireworks, head back to my resort and crash to prepare for the next day. The reason PI is closed is because most people didn't go to it, 98% of the guests will continue on exactly as they did before.

I might not even hit Downtown Disney this time. Will probably just enjoy my hotel, which I often don't find the time to do.

Either sleep, go to CityWalk or visit the revived Church Street Station. It's ironic how Disney built PI to compete with Church Street, won when it shut down... now Church Street is coming back and PI is closed.

I used to love going to the old Barbarella's in downtown Orlando. I forget what it's called now though. My BF's old band played at Scruffy Murphy's across the street a few times. OMG what a hole! The bathroom flooded and there were roaches! I remember the singer jumping off the stage and tried to stomp on this one big roach... all while still playing his guitar!

Only ever used P I for two reasons - Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse. Now they're gone Universal's City Walk will be getting my bucks.

We'll probably go to DTD once or twice, walk, maybe eat, shop a bit, but most nights we'll just head back to the hotel to get some sleep and get ready for the next day.

Jerren, don't you think that is somewhat of a private question unsuitable for a family site as this one?

But honestly... there is more to Orlando than overrated WDW and the other themed parks.. I know where I am to be going...

Being a local the Boardwalk is picking up a lot of the folks as is House of Blues, and CityWalk has been extremely busy. Weekends are packed. Disney did a great thing for Universal, I-Drive and a lot of the surrounding area. I still don't understand the whole thing behind what they did, but I think Downtown Disney is going to be pretty dead this NYE when PI was usually Sold Out for New Years. They should have just closed it, given it a new face lift and had a grand re-opening. I think sometimes the forget the grown-ups need some night time entertainment.

LOL I was wondering who would be the first to make a comment like that...

Looks like a mixed response but a lot of folks looking outside of the WDW property and the remaining West Side clubs. I have to wonder though if House of Blues is doing well enough in Orlando versus their other locations to stay there. A large amount of construction and less of a draw to the area will probably cause a downturn in business until the bold new vision for PI is finished in a few years.

The one thing I liked about PI was the fact that after a night of partying you could hop a bus and return safely to your hotel. I wonder with more folks going off site for their late night fun coupled with the increased police activity around WDW I wonder how long before they start adding sobriety checkpoints on world drive...
