WDW Invasion 3 -part 2
The plan: MickeyMax, MonorailMan and Rixter would pick Dusty and I up in the MiceChat Van for Blingers and take us from the Port Orleans Riverside resort to the Coronado Springs Resort to join the rest of the MiceChatters staying there. We would then grab a bite to eat and head off to the Animal Kingdom for the first MC meet of the trip.

For me there was an extra special event about to take place. A little back story is in order.
Back when I was a little Fishbutt in 1992 I met a cool friend named Byron. He and I were doing relief work after Hurricane Andrew hit Miami. We hit it off and kept in touch for a bit but as time passed on we lost touch.
Recently I grew curious to find my old friend. All that I had to go on was a location of Miami and the first name of Byron. It took me two and a half weeks and a lot of effort but I finally found him. He was still in Miami with his partner of fifteen years.
When Dusty and I made arrangements to visit Orlando I spoke with Byron and his partner, Jason, and we all decided to meet up for a reunion in Orlando. We gave them our schedule and they happily joined in the fun. Our first meet up in 16 years was to take place when we got to the Animal Kingdom on Friday morning before the big MC meet.
Back to the Trip report...
MickeyMaxx, Rixter and Monorail Man bussed us over to the Coranado Springs resort and we checked int. With just a few minutes to spare we decided to grab breakfast at the Peper Market Food Court. It was okay but not GREAT. Little spendy for what we got.
After eating we headed off to the Animal Kingdom. We parked in Dino 38 or something and wandered to the tram pick up. The tram dropped us off at the front gate and, while Rixter, MickeyMaxx and MonorailMan entered the park and waited for us, Dusty and I went to Guest Relations for our Annual Passes.
The CM there was SUPER SUPER nice. He asked us where we were from, answered all of our questions, and did everything he could to make sure we would have a wonderful day. He was AWESOME and I hope his lead reads this.
The WONDERFUL CM
It's always a feast for the senses walking into Animal kingdom. The inviting paths, the sounds of the jungle and the far off rumble of hidden waterfalls beckon you to journey into the wild.
We visited the Scarlet Macaws.

Suddenly the tree of life is in full view .
Dusty had to go to a brief meeting and he split off from the group for a bit. Just then Byron called and said he had just entered the park. Nervously I said, "okay we will wait for you right in front of the Tree of Life." While waiting for Byron and Jason I explained to MickeyMaxx, Rixter and MonorailMan that this was a reunion a long time coming.
Suddenly, coming over the bridge, an older but still familiar face appeared in the crowd. Ironically Jason spotted me first and they rushed over to the shade we were standing in. Big hugs were exchanged and I nearly cried. I was so happy to finally see my friend after such a long absence. It was amazing.
After getting ourselves together we all decided that a trip on Expedition Everest was in order. We picked up extra Fast Passes so's we could ride again later with Dusty.

Rixter and MonorailMan "OH NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
After our chilly run in with the B-Mode Yeti we wandered over tot he Africa section of the park for the MiceChat meet and lunch at Tusker House.

We had to be divided up into two tables but that was okay. Lunch was still delicious.

During Lunch MonorailMan ran over and collected Fast Passes for the Kilamanjaro Safari ride for the group.
"Fishy LOOK! DISCO!!!"
What a good guy. After our long, relaxing lunch we hoped onboard the Safari for a tour through the savannah .

Still in the mood to explore we wandered the Pangani Forest.

Byron laughing because he took bad picture of me
Here's the picture. Just kidding. No, really
What to do next?
Doom BGI wanted to go check out Finding Nemo The Musical. So we crossed the park and got in line just in time.
This is such a great show.
After the show it was time for Byron and Jason to say goodbye to the group for the day. They were also visiting family in Orlando and were due for dinner.
Since it was nearby we all decided to take a spin on Dinosaur. BIG, LOUD, and in competition with Rock'nRollercoaster as having the worst pre-show in WDW.
At this time MickeyMaxx, Rixter, MonorailMan, BC_DisneyGeek, Capt.Phoebus and DoomBGI all had dinner plans. This left Dusty, DarthDucky, BigPigletFan and myself to our own devices.
Dusty wanted to ride Everest so we hit that one again for him.

The Yeti was still in b-mode. :P
Next I begged to go on the Kali River Rapids. I am a sucker for water rides. Against his better judgement Dusty agreed to ride.
We were all wet. It was great!
It was time to leave the park and BPF was kind enough to offer us a ride back to Coranado Springs Resort.
We went back to our room, exhausted, but excited for the WDW gumball Rally event that would be happening the next day.
