    Expedition Everest Height Requirement

According to WDWMagic The current height requirement for Everest is 44"
Since this is pre opening information it's subject to change.

44" seems to be the right height requirement. I can't really see this getting a higher one.

    Re: Expedition Everest Height Requirement

I agree 44" is just right, if indeed that is the height requirement that the attraction ends up with after soft openings. Disney can't really alienate families too much with such a large addition to AK like Everest is. They have to keep the height requirement as low as they safely can. Safely can, not out of fear that anyone would ever fall out, that's what gravity and seat restraints are for, but more as a way to prevent parents from bringing their 3 and 4 year olds on. 44" = 5/6 or older. So that 44" is about right - I think it is a great decision.

What has always puzzled me is DCA's height requirements. It seems that their two coasters have their height requirements flipped. A tame coaster like Screamin' has OTSRs with (1) loop that doesn't even need OTSRs and it still requires 48". Where as some older looping coasters with a much higher level of intensity have lower height requirements like 42" simply for the fact that they do have OTSRs. This always struck me as odd, especially in DCA, where they needed as many rides that kids could go on as possible. Yet at the same time DCA's mouse coaster had a lower height requirement (42") than Screamin' and other mouse coasters all across the country. Granted, it isn't a spinning mouse, but normally those coasters have 48"-54" minimum because of the lack of OTSRs among other things.

I know off subject, but I think with AK, they have the height requirement just right this time.

According to the WDW website, the height for Primeival Whirl is 48"... it makes you think, doesn't it?

It probably has to do with the restraints. Primeval Whirl has restraints that go over 2 people at once. They are oddly shaped, so if it were any shorter it might possibly be dangerous. Also that coaster spins (extremly fast and extremly sharp turns). I don't know this as a fact, but that's my guess.

That is a definite possibilty...the over the shoulder harnesses may have something to do with figuring the requirements.
