    Obama as an AA

Are you ready for "President Obama" as an AA in the Hall of Presidents?

But... hasn't it already been made... for the last 8 years?

Yes, President George W. Bush has been in the Hall of Presidents for nearly 8 years, now.

Surely 30-Day Harrison isn't worth it by that logic either?

You all know the rules guys. This forum is not for political discussion. I'm as ready for the next president of the US to have his AA in this attraction as any president.

The question should be now is how long does it take to put Obama now into the Hall of Presidents? Are they hard at work right now and will have him on display after inauguration day?

No. HOP is down for extended rehab until next July, I believe.

As I understand it, its not just a matter of adding the new AA and recording a new speech like before. They're supposedly making a fairly big change to the way the attraction runs.

Right. Whole new sound system, new lighting, film refurbishment, refurbish seats/carpet, etc. Plus, George Washington will have a speaking role in the new version.

The last thing this country needs is to have a President who's in rehab.

That was not necessary. It's not the "hall of useful presidents", we'd only have 5 (at most) in there.

I hate to admit that this is what I first thought when I heard the news.

Wasn't too hot on either candidate, but it should be exciting.

From what I've heard, the current president will not have a speaking role anymore and the focus will return to Lincoln as it used to be.

Who's your source? On the Washington part, that is.

The Orlando Sentinel is my source on both of the above....

Renovations to bring Disney World's Hall of Presidents into 21st century -- OrlandoSentinel.com

Rumors have been that the newly elected president would no longer have a speaking role, but that is contradicted by the article.

The article is based on an interview with Pam Fisher, senior show writer for WDI.
