WDW in February 2009!?!?

I'm about to push the "buy" button for a "buy 4 get 7 days" package at the Grand FL for Feb 2009. It will be my children's first trip to WDW. We are AP holders at DL.
Good idea? what about weather? crowds? refurbs?
Any advise? (yes, I have read the sticky for first time WDW visitors)

When in February are you going?

I general, February weather is pretty nice. T-shirt weather during the day but a light jacket or sweater at night. Sometimes it can be cool during the day too if a front is coming through. Doesn't usually rain much in February, but bring an umbrella just in case. Forecast can change on a weekly and even daily basis, so I suggest checking the Weather Channel's website for the 10 day forecast for Orlando starting a couple weeks before your trip and then check it every day from there and then once you arrice to keep checking it (you'll have it on your TV at your hotel) for the most up to date forecast.

Crowds can be light to moderate. MLK weekend can be busy as a lot of schools and even some businesses get the day off.

As for refurbs, keep an eye on the refurb page on WDW's official site. They might not have the schedule for Feb up yet, so I'd check it at least once every week or every couple weeks for now to keep on top of that.

We were there the first week of Feb. this year and it was perfect!
Not one day of rain, no crowds, walk right on just about every ride or show, and did I say, NO CROWDS.

The only down side, if you want to call it that, is the parks are open less hours, but with less crowds everything is doable. But with the new promo buy 4/get 7, there may be more crowds in 2009.

I say, push that button and go for it!!!

Watch out for cooler weather! Went in Feb. of 2006 and it was pretty cold most of the time. We're from Wisconsin, so that should tell you something! Other than that, it was great - crowds were light and there was little or no rain.

MLK = Martin Luther King. In 2009, MLK day is on Monday, January 19.

Bring a jacket, we came down once in feb (before i lived in FL) and we thought we were going to die from the cold. The weather can suddenly change so be prepared!

Hopefully by now you have purchased your vacation. During any holiday weekend, especially when they are running a special, the resorts can sell out very fast.

Weather can be unpredictable during Feb. It can get quite cold so you'll want to wear your clothing in layers. Make sure to book any of the more popular restaurants in advance as some of those can be quite hard to get into at the last minute.

Other than that...have a wonder wonderful trip!!
