Re: College Program

I was in the CP summer of 1999--I believe that was the last year they did a program for just the summer. I can understand why they don't do it anymore, it doesn't seem too cost effective. But lucky for me, they were still doing the summer CP when I was in college.
I spent most of the summer working in the Liberty Inn kitchen which was a total drag. I was so happy when they finally moved me out for the last two weeks of my stay. I count myself lucky that I got to live in the Commons--I had three 3 cool international roomates, a great apartment and most awesome of all, free indoor washer/dryer!

Oooo... nice. free laundry is good . I want to live in Chatham because I've heard it's a little more "subdued" per-see... plus it's newerish... and well... I guess I'll just see when I get down there!
They still do the "summer only" program, but now it's only for alumni.

Ya you would definitly rather live in Chatham, it is so much nicer than Vista. I think Vista is a dump, they really need to renvoate the complex. Another good thing about Chatham is your in walking distance to Mickey's retreat, where they have a lake and their own little beach, its really cool.

Re: College Program

Ah, I was a Chatham girl! I really loved it. The complex was gorgeous! The biggest drawback was the extra time needed to take the bus from Chatham to Vista, and then connect to the parks that way. I've heard that now you have to have a car to live in Chatham, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Re: College Program

Uh oh... I'll be flying from Cali, so no car for me Hopefully that's just a roumer... otherwise it's looking like I'll be stuck in vista. But whatever, I'll still be living in wdw, so it's all good I've heard the shuttles are a pain from a lot of people, but I figure since I've already experiance the ins & outs, ups & downs, and inherent pitfals with San Francisco public transportation I think I should be ok. I mean... to get to my audition by the Opera house in SF on Saturday (a 15min drive from my school), I had to leave at 8:15 from the dorms to get to the MUNI lightrail station by 8:39, to arrive at my final destination by 9:30! public transportation... it's a bummer, but hey, at least it gets you there!

Re: College Program

They PREFER to put people with cars in Chatham, but it's not set in stone that you have to have a car to be in Chatham. The bus hub is in Vista, so that's why they like to have the car-less in Vista.

FALSE.

That is not true at all. It was true with the temporary cut-backs after 9/11. It is not true now. They will place you wherever regardless of your mode of transportation.

Re: College Program

It no longer matters if you have a car or not, you can stay at either resort. I did the CP Jan - Aug 05.

You'll only stay at the Commons if you are international. Chatham was very enjoyable. I hear its much quieter than Vista, which is wonderful when you come home after a long day.

I had a character audition on Oct 29th and am still waiting on my results. I think it'll be another week because I got an email stating they needed my role checklist and application. I can't wait to find out my response!

Good luck to those applying for this Spring! I hope to see you all down there!
