Re: College Program

Just mentioning this...

If you're serious about a permanent career at Disney, the College Program is not suited as well to your needs as is this: http://www.hospitality.ucf.edu/

It's very probably that I will take the offer but since I'm married and have a daughter I would like to go as late as possible so as to not spend SOOO much time away from them. Thanks!!
The arrival dates are usually listed once you log in to accept it. Sometimes not all dates are listed or an option though. Others might be arriving on different days if they are on a quarter system with their school v. semseters.

Don't hesitate to talk with your recruiter or the College Program offices if you have other questions or concerns.

Re: College Program

yay! I accepted the program today. I was sort of hesitant about it but finally went for it. I got the dates I wanted too. Sep. 5th to Jan 4. Not bad, just about 4 months away from home. Plus, I had been planning on taking my daughter and husband over there during Christmas so this is my chance! Thanks for the help!!

Re: College Program

Awesome!! Just realize that Christmas is a busy, busy and expensive time - so you probably won't be able to get discounts and you will be working a lot that week. But I'm sure you will have a lot of fun and get a lot of great things from it! If you have questions about classes or anything, don't hesitate to ask!

at least you seem nice and genuinely excited....some of us permanent cast members hate the CP's because alot of them are punk @$$ college kids that dont really care about the magic or the job and act like total jerks...so its good to have one CP who isnt like that-and thats you!!

P.S. that applies to many other CP's here on MiceChat....im referring to this batch of CP's we have now...and not even all of them...

well thanks! I actually am very excited about it! I love Disney World and think it would be awesome to have a working experience there. Plus, I've heard a lot of great things about it and can't wait for it to be my turn!

Re: College Program

I just got accepted into the Summer Alumni program. I'll be doing Quick Service Food probably at Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT. I was down there last summer and had a blast, so I'm pretty excited about being there again. My Pal Mickey shall make its triumphant return!

Wow. That's a bit harsh. Apparently you haven't met very many CPs - especially the Campus Reps who probably are the alumni that care the most since they still stay with the program on their home campus after they leave FL behind.

I would be inclined to believe that CPs past, present, and future here on MC probably care a lot, especially about the "magic" since they are talking about Disney for fun.

It's too bad you weren't around during Fall, I was out in TL custodial and we had a great batch for the most part. I'm sad to hear they're not following the example we left behind.

Re: College Program

I work with CPs on a regular basis. Most of the CPs I work with do a better job than some of the full and part-time CMs. Sure, the pay is horrible, but are CPs a bad work-force? Heck no. Some of the greatest CMs we have are CPs. I find your bashing very un-warranted, and you're making it sound as if the CPs are a bunch of brats. In reality, there are no more bratty CPs than bratty Part-time and Full-time CMs.
