I had a character audition on Oct 29th and am still waiting on my results. I think it'll be another week because I got an email stating they needed my role checklist and application. I can't wait to find out my response!
I had some info I needed to send back to them as well... and I'm hoping that's why it's taking so long to find out. I can't wait to hear back about the character audition either!

Good luck to those applying for this Spring! I hope to see you all down there!

Fortunately, they still offer a program for alumni CP's. From what I've heard, the reason they do that is because of the hectic pace of the summer time in Florida. They need people who are familiar with the workings of the CP to work the long hours that are required. I guess they feel that with the increased work load, it is too difficult to get a full CP experience. However with alumni, they still get that chance.

Re: College Program

Fall Advantage 2004, Vista Way. I was an attractions hostess in Fantasyland. It was a *great* experience, although frustrating at times. I had to leave a month early, however, because my husband (I married near the end of my internship) was being deployed.

Mickeyslittlehelper, you would end up working most of the time in Epcot. However, if you really wanted another experience (or some overtime), you could probably pick up a parade/fireworks (PAC) shift in the Magic Kingdom. They're easy, and require very little extra training.

I'm a little jealous of everyone just starting. You're going to have a lot of fun.

Re: College Program

Eh... I still haven't recieved any info back... 30 days later. I sent an email off to the recruiting center last night... all my info's in (I think?) so I'm hoping I'll find out this week... I have to!!

P.S. Anybody know how far away the Orlando Arena is from WDW? I'm planning to get tickets to a Coldplay show (omg do I love them) in March & was wondering if anybody knew... or for that matter if anybody else was going to go!

But gosh... before I get ahead of myself: should I be worried that I haven't heard back anything yet? I had a friend who applied at my school when I did and she's already recieved an offer, but not an updated evaluation after her entertainment dept. audition... any chance that this is what's holding my application up in the process? I'm still w/in the allotted 2 weeks for recieving noticfcation of this... hopwfully they're combining them?? I'm nervous! Hopefully I haven't messed anything up!

Re: College Program

Yup. They have. Now everyone is notified by a letter... or something. My friend who was at the audition with me and I are calling the department head (at Disney) to see if we can find out from her because, well... we've got to know! plus I still have heard nothing. And it's been over 4 weeks... 5 weeks in 2 days actually.

Ergh! I am so hating you right now

I'm too short/tall. I guess they measured me s being 5'4"ish instead of 5'5"... nthe thing is I KNOW I am 5'4" and three fourths. It's killing me.

I don't know what to do.

I mean, I'm a performer. It's what I do. I never expected to not be accepted. She even said it wasn't because of abilities... it was based solely on height.

Right now, they have no character performers who are my height.

I'm gonna go cry.

CRAP.

I just don't know what I'm gonna do.

Re: College Program

What role did she give you instead of Performer? If you got Operations, you may not be a character, but you learn speils, which you get to act out. You can make them your own (sometimes) and become your own character. I did at the Living Seas and people were like "The first cast member I've seen all day with a personality!" Hehe.

Re: College Program

I don't even know if I should still go.

I want to perform. I just don't think there's any way for me to get in.

Ugh. I'm so depressed. I hate rejection. Especially when it's regarding things you can't change.

Well, I tried to call her back... I didn't want to decide right then and there after I learned the crushing news. I really think I want to go still, but I just don't know. My second choice on the application was Character attendant. After that was opperations and then merchendising.

But my God! Why did I have to be born at the exact height where NOTHING fits? I mean... I'll basically NEVER EVER get to perform w/ Disney. It kills me. It really does. Ugh.

I'm sorry that you didn't get accepted as a performer, that really freakin sucks. But I think you should still go, its an amazing experience no matter what you do, except if you did janitoral, I just think that would suck! Good luck.

Re: College Program

When they call, didn't they tell you want your role is? They should tell you, its not necessarily what your 2nd or 3rd choice was.

I'd call and find out what your new role is, then decide. You'll have fun for sure. And that doesn't mean you can never perform at Disney World. If you sing, that take those. Or dance. Just not apart of the college program.
