Park Hopping / Ticket Pricing

I'm going to Disney World in February and there are only one or two days out of seven when I'm interested in park hopping.

Is it possible for me to buy a 10 day ticket ($237) and just use an extra day for each park hop, rather than buying a 7 day ticket plus the park hopping option ($278)?

You have ot get parkhopping for each day of the ticket.
I think your option would be a regular 7 day ticket then a 2 day ticket with park hopping. Unless that costs more!

That would definitely cost more. The price of park hopping is set no matter how many days you get and is only like 20 bucks, so if you're staying for a long time its not that expensive. Unfortunately you can't buy a 10 day ticket for a 7 day stay and use the 3 extra days to gain access into other parks.

As others have said, you cannot buy a 10 day ticket and use it in 7 days. A 10 day ticket is exactly that, a ticket that entitles you to admission to one park for 10 days. Your best option is to buy a 7 day park hopper.

Adding the park hopper to ANY ticket costs a flat fee of $50 + tax.

If you have a base ticket and attempt to enter a second theme park in the same day, the turnstile will not unlock. The CM greeter on the other side will see that his/her display says "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED" and will give them other information about the entitlements on the ticket. The CM will NOT let you in, and will tell you your options: go to the ticket window and buy the park hopper option; go back and re-enter the first park you were already in that day; or just do anything else other than enter this second park.

After Day 4, additional park days cost only $3 + tax per day. Disney could never sell the park hopper feature if guests could get around it by paying an extra $3 or $6 instead of an extra $50.

Just for illustration purposes ...

A 5-day base ticket costs $222. A 2-day hopper costs $199. The total cost is $421.

A 7-day park hopper costs $278.
