What is your favourite place to eat in WDW?

I just read a similar thread in the DL forum and now I'm kinda hungry so... what is your favourite place to eat in Walt Disney World, and why?

We ate at the San Angel Inn at Epcot on Christmas Day, and while the prices were extortionate, the quality and taste of the food was absolutely fantastic. I have never seen shrimps the size of the ones they sell there! Enormous! The ambience was glorious as well, with the Mexican plaza behind your table where we had a mariachi band, and the river and pyramid from the Gran Fiesta Tour in front of you.

There will always be a place in my heart for Figaro's Fries however, at the Magic Kingdom

It's a tie. On the dining plan, it is LeCellier--love the cheddar cheese soup and the filet with cream cheese mashed potatos and finishing off with the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake. When not using the dining plan, it is definitely Fulton's at Downtown Disney. The King Crab Claws are to die for.

It depends on what I'm in the mood for. Most are counter service spots though... because I'm cheap.

Mexican: Cantina de San Angel. Love the wet burritos there. Almost as good as a place I used to frequent when I lived up north.

Pizza: Pizza Planet. I'm normally very wary of theme/amusement park pizza, so I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this was. I like the veggie pizza.

Sandwich/Burger: Sunshine Seasons at The Land. I am a slave to the turkey sandwich w/ chipotle mayo. I like Captain Cook's at the Polynesian's BBQ pulled pork sandwich as well. And Pecos Bill's for burgers. Love that topping bar!

Snacks: Pinocchio Village Haus (for Figaro Fries), Pop Century food court (for the loaded nachos), Captain Cook's (self-serve Dole Whip)

For a nice sit-down meal, I like the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian.

We're going to Pecos Bill's tonight for our last night in WDW - the topping bar is awesome I could have sworn I had heard WDW were cutting the topping bars in Tomorrowland and Frontierland back, but when I returned after two years they had ADDED items to the topping bars! Cheese, salsa and banana peppers weren't there in 2006

And I would hardly call you cheap for only eating at counter service... since when was WDW counter service cheap!? Anyone ever had the chicken wraps at Blizzard Beach? mmmmm

Sadly, I really do not have a favorite place to eat at WDW. Being a local, I can always find (and name here) local Orlando area restaurants that have similar menus and themes to those on WDW property, and with much cheaper prices and better service and food quality.

Ooh, name a couple please! My dad is always interested in the best places for food in the Orlando/Kissimmee area, and asks any locals he has the chance to!

Skip Bongos. Go to Cafe Madrid in east Orlando.
Skip The Pub in UK/Epcot. Go to any Ale House in the Orlando area.

Texas de Brazil Churrascaria on I-Drive. Yes, it is a chain but a very good one, and pricey but well worth it. Still cheaper than the churrascarias here in NY or NJ.

Make sure you don't eat for 12 hours prior to your meal.

International Drive is so freaking touristy, and you will pay higher prices for that. Stay away from that area. Go north on I-4 and seek out much better dining options in downtown Orlando, Winter park, or even as far up as Altamonte Springs. Many mom and dad operations that offer such quality.. quality that most overpriced Disney restaurants could only dream of achieving.

I won't dispute that some parts of I-Drive are touristy, mainly in the vicinity of Universal, but the area up at the end of I-Drive by the Festival Bay Mall is decent. (The restaurant I mentioned is directly across from the mall)

I guess one could also say that a certain shop around the corner from the Ale House on Winter Garden Vineland is also touristy.

I actually love the lunch at the castle. The pork tenderloin has THE best sauce on it, and that dessert they serve was the best I had there outside of the creme brulee in Epcot.

I would call that particular store trashy, as it is geared to bargain hunter tourists, and in that same cheap theme.. we have the Ale House! Cheap food that is actually edible. Just ask SummerInFL.
As for Festival Bay Mall.. A big fat yawn! That place is so dead that even ghosts will skip it, and any respectable tourist (even the ones in black socks from the UK) should avoid it as well.

For table service, we love the California Grill during fireworks, Victoria and Alberts and Le Cellier.

For counter service, we like Cantina de San Angel, Sunshine Seasons Food Court, and Flametree BBQ
