Epcot - 01/03/08 - Oranges, A Missing Boat and Beautiful Weather!

A new year, some Disney gift cards and a free weekend, what to do, what to do?? Oh! Let's go to Epcot! Why not!

C and I hopped in the car and headed towards Lake Buena Vista, FL and on the way I got the sudden urge for orange juice.

Should you wish to see all the photos I took that day, please visit here.

We arrived to moderate crowds, on the touring plans scale, I'd say it was about a 6.

We dashed over to grab FP's for Test Track and stopped by Cool Wash so C could enjoy the misters.

The sky was blue, the weather was perfect and the humidity was nonexistent, I love days like these. *sighs*

We stopped by the Mexico Pavilion, snagged a 1 p.m. lunch rez at the San Angel Inn, C found the sombreos.

As we had about an hour to kill until lunch we walked towards Norway, it was then I looked over an noticed something missing. Can anybody guess what that is?

Maelstrom? You may get wet? Did they add another drop?

I found Donald laying down in a window, I think he's been sipping too much Norwegian beer.

Next stop was the China Pavilion were I found a necklace with my name on it (which is really rare) and C got an umbrella.

As we headed back to Mexico for lunch, we stopped by to enjoy the musical renderings of Mariachi Cobre, they were very good!

They have great sunglasses in Mexico.

As we checked in for lunch, we were lucky enough to get a spot right on the water! Mexico has always been my favorite pavilion for theming, the inside is just beautiful.

I didn't have a tripod so this was the best I could do. LOL

Lunch was good, I had the empanadas with mushrooms and C had the kids quesadilla.

Gran Fiesta Tour time!

After we headed back to future world to ride some attractions, we walked over to JII through the flower garden walkways, they really have the prettiest flowers.

The bad part about riding JII is that we end up with the theme song stuck in our head all day, my daughter wouldn't stop singing it. LOL

Then we headed to The Land Pavilion and decided to catch Circle of Life, it's a film about the environment with Simba, Timon and Pumba from the Lion King. It has a great message but definitely something that we only need to see once or twice. Love the Circle of Life song though, I teared up to that, but I'm a sap anyway so...

Then it was a quick ride on Living with the Land, this one always gets bad reviews but my family loves it. It's educational AND fun, IMHO.

It wouldn't be a complete trip to Epcot if we didn't stop by the Seas Pavilion and see the dolphins, C is obsessed with them. We got there just in time to catch the dolphin show! It's really informative and very cute.

We then tried to go on Universe of Energy but just as we arrived it broke down. Oh well, next time.

Test Track Time!

We ended the evening with a ride on Spaceship Earth, it was then I discovered that my camera has HD filming capabilities, that's awesome!

Thanks for sharing our day with us!

The End.

It's really unfair to see your daughter enjoying water misters and great weather while I'm freezing in California right now. Great trip report though, food looks way better then most of the stuff they sell at Disneyland over here.

Awww, the boat is gone in Norway.
Hopefully they are just refurbing it or something. Maybe you will actually be able to go on it again???

Great TR. We love the Land boat too. It's fun.

Yes, the Viking boat was been completely demoed in early December.
It had been closed to guests for several years though.

Summer, that's a very nice pic of the integrated aquaculture system in The Land. I believe that particular system debuted the day you visited.

Although disney world has many more dining options I would say the food quality is much the same and although its sunny in florida right now there rain comes when we socal's enjoy fun in the sun without the humidity ( although I still wish I could be there, as always)
