Question Obama and the Hall of Presidents

Does anyone know when Obama will be added to the HOP? I heard a rumour that they were revamping Great Moments with Mr. Lincold at DisneyLand but have heard no news regarding when Obama will be added to the Hall. Does anyone have any information?

I hope it will be sometime around July 4th. I would like to be one of the first people to see him in the attraction

I am hoping to hear that it will happen sooner. I will be at WDW the week of March 14-21 and was hoping that maybe they would have it in by then. It just seems like it would be a missed opportunity on Disney's part not to ride Obamamania and entice more people to come to the parks during these tough economic times.

HOP is currently down and will not be opening back up until July. I'm rather sure they are adding Obama.

I snapped this picture back in November at the Magic Kingdom. My most recent trip there was on December 27th, and this sign was still in place.

Thanks for the update, it will be interesting to hear the official press release from Disney about the addition.

I do agree with what you said about Obamamania haha. I believe on Monday the Disney Channel was playing stuff related the the inauguration, so you would think they would have rushed the attraction. But they must be waiting so they can get him to do the voice over and go over the wardrobe of the AA.

Oh and no problem about the photo. I've been a member of the site for like 4 years now, and like I was thinking about it would be cool to get back into it since I live pretty close to the parks now.

Actually esteemed Disney Insider G.L Simpson told me that part of the refurbisment of the HOP would be a renaming. When it debutes in July it will be renamed "Barack Obama and the 43 other White Dudes"

42 actually. Barack is the 2nd Black President. Bill Clinton was the first.

I wonder who they are going to have do the movie narration. Actually, the movie part of the attraction could be why its going to take till July to open. They might be making a whole new movie to go along with MLKjr's Dream and Barack being the first Black President. All I can say is that this is all pretty cool.

I actually heard that is the plan for Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln. It would have an AA Obama interact with Lincoln showing the progress that has been made since Lincoln's time. It sounds like a cool idea but I know some of my friends on the Right would have a hissy fit over it.
