    Captain EO

Just watched the old Captain EO movie on youtube and it got me nostalgic. I really loved that show as a kid. Say what you want about Michael, but the guy was a damn fine entertainer back in the day. Thriller is still a top-5 album in my book, but that's beside the point. Too bad Jackson had to go screw everything up by becoming an alleged-pedophile. And in my opinion, too bad that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is still stuck in it's place, what?, 15 years later. That movie hasn't been relevant for ten years, at least. Wish Disney would change it up with something new. Anyone heard any talk or rumors? Let me know. Until then, I'll just have to be satisfied with these grainy youtube clips, with maybe a little Smooth Criminal playing in the background for general ambiance.

I agree. I still love Captain Eo. I want them to release it on bluray already. And some action figures.

Ah Captain EO... how I will forever love that show. I really wish that something would take the place of HISTA, but with so much happening in both parks (CA & FL) and the economy in the toilet who knows when this will ever happen?

Would be nice to see something futuristic and exciting...something that would give us all the same feeling and enchantment that EO did.

I think I'm going to go watch Captain EO now...

For as much as his off screen shenanigans, MJ had presence when it come to onstage presence that we've not really seen since. He was having fun on the screen and it really kinda shined through. HISTA is filled with gimmicks--MJ, George and Disney made a music video, with two songs, in 3D. It was family friendly, with nothing horrific jumping out at you. And it was timed for the MTV generation.

Yeah, I kinda miss Eo too.

    Time to hit up youtube!

They are going to bring Michael back in a new 3-d movie for kids called Captain EO's bedtime adventures. That or they are going to re-film it somewhere on a farm in the Midwest and call it Captain E-I-E-I-O
    Growing older is manditory
    Growing up is however, optional

Captain E-I-E-I-O. Hilarious!! Personally, Disney shouldn't look back. I say go forward and look for new ideas.

I wanna see a Pink Floyd laser-light show done by Disney. Use the Wonders of Life pavilion as a giant planetarium. Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with Captain EO really. I was just thinking of things that could be done at EPCOT Center and thought of Pink Floyd because of Rocker's signature.
I think WDI would come up with an amazing planetarium style laser show.

Totally agree with you. Cap EO is dated and I think it would not be well recieved... especially after Michael's kiddy abuse mess. I however am for a total retirement of HISTA. It ran it's course 5 yrs ago. Time to change to something new...

HISTA is so dated, I heard that they are going to move it to Dinoland at Animal Kingdom.

Yeah that area always seems crowded but I never see people playing the games, do they even break even on them? There's so much that could be done with that space it always seemed a bit of a waste. I get the theme, I know the back story, but it always seemed like it was thrown up as an afterthought to open the park and has just never progressed. The carnival games and route 66 styling of the area just seems cheap when you look at the park as a whole which has some of the best and most detailed theming of any park at WDW.

I wonder if anyone still supports HISTA to stay at the parks.
