We have two potential weeks we can make it out to DW and I was wondering if one of them is better than the other (less crowded or any other incentive)
We are either looking at April 2nd thru 7th (Thu-Tue
or
April 15th thru 20th (Wed-Mon)
Would you recommend one over the other?
According to my Econoguide WDW travel book, the first and fourth weeks of April see moderate crowds, while the second and third weeks are much busier, because of the Easter Parade and spring break. So, gazing in my crystal ball, I see the numbers 2-7 swimming up...
April tends to be fairly crowded especially around the easter holiday. Combine that with spring break and I don't think it makes a strong difference one way or the other (crowd wise).
You may want to check the schedule for the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot (if that's something your interested in) to see if there are any events/speakers that you really would like to see.
It is hit and miss. Easter being on April 12, IIRC, you'll miss the Easter crowds. I went for my honeymoon two years ago starting on the 22nd, which was a Sunday. My park tix started Monday and it wasn't busy at MK that day. We got through All three mountains, Pirates, the Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Carousel of Progress, plus hit the people mover, ate, shopped, and drove the RC boats before 1 o'clock.
But by the weekend crowds picked up quite a bit. I would choose the dates that gave you Mon, Tues, Weds over weekend days.
April 15-20 still puts you there on the weekend, and during spring break. You're always better off going when the kids are in school.
