I'm confused, Firebolt- are you local? Unless you live within driving distance of either of the resorts, I don't think it would be feasible. It might be fun, but I don't think you could make enough to support yourself for the summer: housing, food, transportation, etc.

If you're not a local, and you're still set on working in one of the resorts in the next few years, I'd suggest you focus on the Disney College Program. Great way to experience the parks, make some money, and start building a Disney career, if that's your goal.

Here's the link to the MiceChat College Program thread-

How old are you going to be then? You have to be at least certain age for various positions.

You need to be 18. At least for WDW, I doubt that you could get hired. I'm a CP now and barely working 30 hours a week. There just aren't enough hours to go around and I hear that the seasonal CMs hardly get any hours. Also, as far as summer goes, I believe that CP alumni get priority, and that sometimes there isn't even enough space for them.

WDW & DL both have a hiring freeze going on right now. Or at least last I heard (which isn't too long ago) they were. So they're not hiring anyone right now. Maybe that will change by summer but If you're not 18 by then, you're SOL.

I would just wait to do the CP. It would make everything easier. And if you can't wait til college, you could do the CS (it's for people who have just finished HS).

you can work at WDW at, i believe, 16 or 17. you can't operate machinery, i.e. attractions, until you're 18.
