I asked this question in another AI thread and got no reply. So I'm trying again. Does anyone know if the AI show is drawing guests away from the other attractions in the park (TSMM, in other words).

Not at all. It has been a walk-on, and since they stopped allowing CMs to tryout (it was going to be they just couldn't win the Dream Ticket prize) they have had days with fewer than 100 contestants trying out. It hasn't pulled the crowds they wanted, even with a huge marketing campaign and a well done show.
