My daughter and I went over to WDW for the weekend to finally meet fellow Micechatter, DMo2, whom I've known for about 5 years now. We figured it was about time.![]()
Should you wish to see all the photos I took this weekend, please visit here.
We stayed off site this time at the Radisson, its west of I-4 on 192, the nicer and newer side of town.
It was a great "budget" hotel that included breakfast for around $80 a night. The beds were comfortable and the food was good, I think it's a great value.
We also had a view of Everest from our room. LOL
We headed over to Epcot to spend time with Kalli and her family, we arrived just as the sun was setting.
After many hugs we headed over to World Showcase and had a little party in the Mexico Pavillion.
Ole!
I discovered what was left of the boat in Norway.
And Kalli's son discovered why you shouldn't sit on the rails.
That evening was so much fun, the entire World Showcase was open until 11pm and there was a handful of people walking around. We felt like they just stayed open for us! If you ever wanted to shop and just enjoy WS, EMH is definitely the time to do it.
We did close the park and had such a great time leisurely walking back to the front of the park.
The next morning as we were heading out to AK, we noticed some standees in the hotel lobby area.
Christina and I explored the Oasis and the trails around the tree of life until Kalli and family arrived.
We discovered one area where a duck either thought C had some food or wanted to eat C AS the food, I was grateful for the glass between them. LOL

There is this great path that walks you directly under the TOL and it gives you a great close up of the tree, it's incredibly breathtaking and if you like that sort of thing, I highly recommend it.
As we were heading back to the entrance we caught a session with the Village Beatniks and they helped us, "find the beat", it was a nice little jam session.
We stopped to shop and Christina walked up to me with this Panda, you know that face kids make, I hate that face.
So I bought the panda....
Then Kalli and family arrived and we stopped to see "Its Tough To Be a Bug".
Then of course "Kalli" had to go on "Kali" River Rapids. LOL
After, the girls discovered the squirting fountains near the Maharahjah Jungle Trek.
We thought it would be a nice time for a train ride, so we headed over to Rafiki's Watch Planet. If you love animals and conservation, this is definitely the place to visit. They even have a petting zoo!
There was this llama in the petting zoo that had everybody laughing. She would walk straight up to you at the fence, pose and the flip her head back as if to say, "I've had enough of you," and then run over to the other side of the pen and do it all over again. She was really funny to watch!
We headed back to go grab some lunch and saw that Turk was sharing hers.
We opted for the Flame Tree Barbecue as Kalli had never eaten there before.
Then it was back over to Everest where C and I waited while the others rode, she says she's not ready to ride Everest. Oh well, maybe next year. LOL
Next, we headed over to catch the Safari. As the day was cool, the animals were lively all over the park, this attraction was no exception.
Even the cheetah was out and about..
The lioness however, was catching some sleep in the sun.
As we exited it was just in time for the parade, so we watched that before leaving.
We headed back to Kalli's hotel (Coronado Springs) and we took a dip in the pool. Well, the kids took a dip in the heated pool, the adults sat nearby and froze to death. LOL
To end the evening we had dinner at the local Ale House, we also checked out the cheesy gift shop nearby.
They had this real, stuffed aligator for $1,000.
Kalli and I at the Ale House. We couldn't stop laughing long enough to take the photo.
It was wonderful finally meeting you in person Kalli, your family is a joy hang out with. I had such a good time that weekend, thanks again for sharing part of your vacation with us and to everyone else for sharing our day with us.
The End
