Pre-Opening Flower and Garden Photos

I have two blog entries with a variety of photo from the last couple of days (also included are Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower pics).

The pics are here:

MouseSteps - Park/Resort Updates

Here are some larger:

There is a Fantasia theme in the Innoventions area:

Donald Duck peeks out from behind some bushes while being worked on:

And a few photos that will be on the Micechat weekend update tomorrow (along with more of my Flower and Garden Festival photos):

Re: Pre-Opening Flower and Garden Photos

there's two different Mickeys in the parade? Isn't that confusing to the kids?

Actually you are confused. There is only ONE Mickey in the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade. He is on the first float. However, Mickey also appears in the first float of the "Shake it! Celebrate it!" Streetacular at the hub. Those are two different shows at the MK currently happening daily, and Denise posted pictures of Mickey as seen on both shows.

BTW Dense.. what is this year's Flower Fest theme? Can't tell by looking at your pics.

Thank you for clearing it up for everyone - I love the Move It! Shake It! parade very much, too.

The main topiary is not up yet - the theme this year will be Cinderellabration. But it is a Fantasia theme in the Innoventions area.

I recently bought a Canon SX10IS, which I love. There is a European equivalent though (a Canon) that has better features - but this one is packed full of features for the price.

Agreed. I love that photo of Mickey in his white shorts busting a move. And to his credits, he also does some mean tap and modern jazz dancing and plays a even mearner set of drums (as seen on TDS' Big Band Beat show). Very talented Mouse.

I thought this year's theme was "Celebrate Springtime"?

BTW, thank you for posting such beautiful pictures!

Re: Pre-Opening Flower and Garden Photos

Denise, I absolutely LOVE you. Thank you so much for these wonderful pictures. Flower and Garden festival is one of the highlights of the year for me. But I'm going to miss it by just a few weeks this year.

Hopefully you and the other chatters will be able to fill us in on how the whole thing looks in full bloom.

-Dusty

I guess the whole theme is Celebrations, so each topiary will eventually show a celebration of some sort.

Like they have had topiaries of the Lion King up for a number of days, and yesterday they had the baboon holding up Simba as well (so that is the celebration for the topiary set). I am not sure as far as Fantasia, though.

Hi Dusty - Thanks, and I am sorry you will miss the Festival this year! It seems they will have more topiaries than ever.

After the disappointing Food and Wine Festival this year (it was way downscaled), it seems that Disney is actually upping the Flower and Garden Festival, and I am very glad about that.
