Re: I seriously don't know which WDW park to go to.... Which is your favorite???

With only one day, I've gotta say EPCOT Center. It's not only my favorite park at WDW, it's my favorite park PERIOD. (And yes, that includes Disneyland)

2nd choice would be Animal Kingdom. Not because it's my 2nd favorite park at WDW (that goes to MK) but because it is unique and you certainly CAN spend a full day there.

Although, I've gotta agree with Coheteboy, DHS has Tower and being that it's the best ride EVER certainly throws some votes in that direction too.

But I still gotta say EPCOT.

I didn't know so many people like Epcot so much! Its a wonder Disney treats it like their reject park.

Go on Youtube and look up videos of the parks. Be careful, though. There is a lot of material on Youtube and it will suck you in. That is why I am failing linear algebra and will probably never fulfill my dream of becoming an imagineer. At least I remember the Horizons storyline by heart now.

Oh, Animal kingdon is only open until 5pm or something right? That doesn't sound very good for someone who has only one day.

Depends on your personal stamina...personally 9 to 5 is generally enough to tire me out...one could do AK 9 to 5...then go eat at one of many good restaurants around WDW...and maybe catch Wishes from the Seven Seas Lagoon...that would be a pretty rewarding full day for me.

You won't know till you go...so why worry so much? Just go, and if by chance you don't like it...well it's not the end of the world

Different strokes, overall I prefer the DCA version of ToT, but I think I am in the minority.

I am guessing you have not been to Disneyland. The MK after DL is kind of like going from driving a Ferrari to a Camero.

Both are nice and desired by people, and those aspire for a Camero or have only driven a Camero are happy. But once you get used to driving the Ferrari with it's quality and classic feel, you are nver quite comfortable and happy in the Camero. You may enjoy some of the differences, but you still lament that it is not the Ferrari.

So MK will disappoint me then because I love DL?

Re: I seriously don't know which WDW park to go to.... Which is your favorite???

Maybe not, but it certainly does for my wife and I. It has less attractions and live entertainment, and it is not very well maintained.

For us, here are some of our views (though I am preparing for a backlash from the WDW faithful):

Main Street is one big strip mall - though the barber shop is a cool plus over DL's
A differences of the castle are interesting (though I prefer DLP's)
The Jungle Cruise is slightly different, but we have never had a good skipper in Florida.
Tiki Room is different (and for us this is not a good thing, in fact it's bad)
PoTC has a nice queue but the attraction is half the length of DL and DLP's and has one waterfall, always feels disappointing.
Some think Splash Mountain is better in WDW, but I think it is on par with DL's
Country Bears - it is great to still be able to see this (one of the main reasons why we go). I wish they would give it some TLC though.
There is no show in the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon :-(
Liberty Square is great and unique to WDW (though if I had to choose, I still prefer NOS).
We love the Hall of Presidents as a tricked out version of Gt Moments with Mr Lincoln (some think it boring, but it is reason number 2 why we go to the MK)
The Haunted MAnsion has some lovely new effects worth seeing it, perhaps making it better than DL's (only just).
Fasntasyland - nothing to see here IMHO, it is a joke compared to DL's. That said, Philharmagic is a crowd pleasing 3D movie (I prefer MV3D and ITTBAB), but it is only in WDW, HKDL and soon to be in TDL.
IASW is a lesser version than DL's but at least there are no toons here yet!
Toontown Fair is a joke compared to DL's.
Tomorrowland is reason number 3 for us to visit the MK. You can still ride the people mover, the Astro Orbitor is in the right place, and the Carousel of Progress is an excellent Walt era AA show that used to be at Disneyland.
Check out the AA in Cosmic Rays
Monsters Inc LAugh Floor and Stitch Encounter are unique to WDW, and while not amazing, they are not as bad as people say they are in our opinion.
Buzz is a lesser version as they learnt great lessons before putting the better version in DL.

And then lastly, Wishes, the firework presentation, if you can tune out the annoying kid voices, is a great pyro show (but not as good as Illuminations in Epcot or Remember at DL IMHO).

So count up the must dos as a DL lover at the MK - about 6 attractions for a DLer, 10 if you count the character attractions/versions not in DL, versus more than a day's worth of things to do in Epcot, well this is how we feel.

Also, we found the lack of variety of food choices in the MK vs DL quite a let down (though Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern are good choices), people love the Columbia Harbour House (though we were disappointed with all but the chowder), and Cosmic Rays is ok. The noodle place and mexican never seem open.

The place is not as clean either, and the quality of the performers are not of the same professional standards as the DL cast IMHO.

We went in the late 70's early 80's, and my Mom questioned why we traveled so far when our local Disney park was so much better.

We went in 2000 on our honeymoon and had fun because it had been a long time since going to DL (DLP is now my local park), but the other 3 parks were more enjoyable to us as WDW is very weak compared to DLP (except for the fireworks - DLP is not good in that department).

We went back in 2006 and found the MK to be run down and dirty. It was a major disappointment, so on our 11 day WDW trip, we opted to spend 2 days there, and one of those was only really because we had dining reservations and the kids wanted to ride the dark rides and spinners.

Bottom line, the MK to me is the worst park at WDW if you are a regular visitor to DL or DLP. However, if you do not know any better, or have fond childhood memories, I could see how the MK could be some people's favorite.

Re: I seriously don't know which WDW park to go to.... Which is your favorite???

I've been to WDW 15 times for about 3 days each and DL once for 2.5 days. The difference between WDW and DL is at WDW you HAVE to go for more than one day. If you plan on going for one day, and being a native to DL, you should go to Epcot or MK. The only reason why you shouldn't go to DHS or Animal Kingdom is they don't have a whole lot of attractions. If you want to go on animal trails, AK is the place to go. I can't really choose one park.

Re: I seriously don't know which WDW park to go to.... Which is your favorite???

I personally love Magic Kingdom. I love every ride there (except for Enchanted Tiki Room - New Management) and great little places to eat. I do like the other parks. But there are only small reasons why I like the others compare to Magic Kingdom.

But if I was Californian like you. I would go for Epcot. I would goto places where Disneyland does not offer.

Exactly. Yet if you were in Paris I would still avise Californians to see DLP!
