News Universe of Energy becoming "unpainted" to the original colors!

Well, the Jeopardy set changed on the real show, but inside the Universe of Energy we most likely won't see any changes to that... but I found that the original colors will be returning to the Universe of Energy's exterior, and is a foot in the right direction to restoring Future World's aesthetic:

Right side - old color scheme:

Left side - you can see the "ribs" are getting repainted gray, and the "inbetween" into their original colors - HURRAH!:

Well, while I didn't mind the current colors, it's good to hear that they are acknowledging EPCOT Center's history. Hmm, could this be because of the new manager of Epcot?

EDIT: Realized after the fact this was my 100th post!

HaHa! You got my photos from WDWMagic! Anyway, they are pretty far along with it on the right side. The left side didn't appear to have any painting started.

I'll post my trip report in a few days, but a ton of refurbishment and construction work is going on around the parks.

Now if they would only:

1. Update the show. Energy is such a hot topic right now, with our shift away from fossil fuels and other changes - this is the perfect time for a new show. They just need to avoid it being too pop culture, so it doesn't date itself so fast.

2. Replace the solar panels with high-output ones. Even when the attraction opened, the solar panels only provided 20% - 30% of the attractions' power. I can only imagine in the years, that the output of new panels would be greater (and cheaper). Plus, most of the current panels look all cracked and broken.

Exactly, this is an awesome step in the right direction. I wish they would go back to the original color scheme at Imagination too.

They need to de-Ellen the show. While I like Ellen... I hate her in this attraction.

I like Ellen, too, but putting celebs in an attraction instantly dates the show and is a bad idea in the long term. Its the original "Living Character Initiative".

I agree with you guys. I actually really love the Ellen version of the show (certainly better than what was there before), but it does seem pretty dated and it may be time for a big change.

I actually think Ellen may just do a revamp of the show with new jokes and new skits. I mean she's still very popular in the pop culture world, hell she's just gotten the cover with Oprah on O Magazine.

Ellen just needs to replace herself with all new material, updated facts and new footage.

I actually have no problem with the current version but if people demand a new revamp I would suggest just bring back Ellen for a new storyline for the attraction.

Ahh the Radok screens were brillaint, but as with anything with so many moving parts, were prone for malfunction.

Not true' The Radok screens were demolished during the 96 refurb.
