Re: Test Track - GM Banks One Last Turn ..While Toyota Is "Moving Forward"?

I've heard that Radiator Springs Racers that is coming to DCA is supposed to be similar to Test Track, except that there will be new technologies meaning greater thrills. Perhaps they can do something like this for Test Track sans the Cars overlay theme?

This would be a possibility. Although, I'd rather the Disneyland Cars themed version remain a unique multinational draw for people to come to DLR. Between WDW, WDI and Toyots, I have every confidence that they could come up with a cleverly themed one-of-a kind Test Track ride for WDW ..should they so desire.

I've hoped that WDI would be interested in chronicling the history of transportation again. Perhaps having dioramas representing the systems of motion in centuries past, then featuring the current vehicle, the automobile, and a "grand finale" race around the track. Thus a tribute to both World of Motion and Test Track.

Unfortunately, the current expense-fearing WDW management won't have it this way.

I hope they at least take down those tacky facades, though.

I love your idea. Rides that are both faun and educational are far more stimulating than those that are not.

Re: Test Track - GM Banks One Last Turn ..While Toyota Is "Moving Forward"?

"Test Track is visited by approximately 11 million guests per year, which substantially contributes to making the ride second only to the Magic Kingdom in terms of attendance "

What???? Are they comparing a single ride to a theme park? First of, Test Track does not have an hourly capacity be able to host 11 milllion rides a year. That would be equal to over 30 thousand per day! At 24 hours a day with out break downs that would be over 1200 per hour. Which is about what its' capcity is. BUT that said, it clearly is not open 24/7. So at 16 hours a day is would have to be hosting almost 1900 per hour, and it just doesn't have the capcity even without down times. Orlando Slantinel messed up something in their facts. I know... amazing.
