 | 1,400 eliminated at WDW Local Channel 6 news reporting that as many as 1,400 backstage jobs have been eliminated at WDW this week as the company continues to streamline operations to save money in the current state of the economy. Oh well.. not a good time to plan moving to FL just to pursue that long held dream of working for the Mouse.

| Re: 1,400 eliminated at WDW Man, I bet you a lot of those backstage job layoffs were in Costuming. They seemed a little understaffed when I worked down there in fall 07. Imagine how much they would be understaffed now. This can really hurt shows, parades, and character greets if you dont have enough efficient people working in that department. |

| Re: 1,400 eliminated at WDW and of course the big news that Jay Rasulo, Bob Iger and the rest of the executive team have decided to take paycuts and forgo their bonuses this year. Oh wait, April Fool's Day is over. If any of those "leaders" really had a soul the whole situation would have been handled differently. The Hapiest Place on Earth is not a place where you are randomly plucked out of your office and handed a cardboard box. There is no heart in Disney, they do not care about the "guests" or cast members. It has not been a "family" for quite some years, everything is smoke and mirrors. |
