What records does WDW hold?

...and I don't mean documents. I mean world records. Like how Magic Kingdom is the most visited park in the world, or Summit Plummet is the tallest water slide (is that one still true?) Let's see what you have! Any record goes!

Re: What records does WDW hold?

Well, WDW is the largest resort in the world, although that will change when Dubailand opens in a few years. And isn't WDW also the largest single-site employer in the U.S.?

Re: What records does WDW hold?

Hold it. That just says it's a new record for TDR. And TDR is two parks. It says nothing of THE record. As for most outdated kingdom, you might be right, but that record has yet to be recognized

Re: What records does WDW hold?

Most oversized strollers in one place.
Most ECV's, wheelchairs and strollers being used by people that really don't need to use them.

I recently saw two pictures from the Hub in the Magic Kingdom. It was interesting since both pictures had about the same amount of people in them (all lined up waiting to see the parade in the area between Tomorrowland and the Castle) One picture was fom the mid to late 70's, the second picture was from 2008.

In the older picture I counted 4 strollers, maybe 5, it was hard to tell the 5th one since it was mostly hidden. No ECV's and 1 wheelchair.

In the 2008 picture there were 34 strollers, many were double wides. 8 ECV's and 3 wheelchairs.

Considering that on average only 35% of visitors to TDR take the time to visit TDS, may give you an idea of the power TDL has over that operation.
But I recognize all these records are opened to individual interpretation. My opinion on this comes after years of observing both TDR and WDW crowd trends over the past 20 years. I do not think you were born just yet.

Re: What records does WDW hold?

^ Yep, that's true. Expedition Everest is the tallest mountain in Florida. Just like Cinderella's is the tallest castle.

but i was. and going off the amusement park attendance record, magic kingdom is still #1, regardless of whether or not TDR got an attendance boost.

LOL sure is the tallest castle.

Not sure if I remeber hearing this correctly, but I think WDW has the largest fleets of water craft owned by a private co.

Not sure if this is still true, but Spaceship Earth was the world's largest geodesic sphere.

Re: What records does WDW hold?

...I donīt care about numbers and how to look at them from different angles. After having been in TDL I KNOW that it is much more visited than any other Magic Kingdom... the place is always PACKED beyond belief and 60 minutes wait time is low for even the lamest attractions
Nothing can make me doubt about that.

For someone who seems to hate WDW so much you sure do spend an awful lot of time in here bashing it.

We get it, you don't like how they're maintaining WDW. Get over yourself and move on with life. You seem so bitter. You say that Flynn is following you around yet in just about EVERY WDW thread you're in there bashing the place.

Re: What records does WDW hold?

I'm quite convinced the Micechat WDW section holds the record for the most off topic posts and most derailed threads than any other internet Disney board.

Anyway...
Isn't Living Seas one of the largest man-made oceans in the world? I thought it was the largest when it was first opened and then others were built with more capacity.
