Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

The idea here is to create a permanent clearinghouse or watchlist for each Park with respect to effects and details that are missing, broken, etc.. Hopefully, a moderator can make each of these threads a sticky and as people report on the status of the parks it can be updated here: green is working properly red (month, year of latest report) is turned off/broken.

This way we can not only share the great details that are often overlooked, but also keep Disney management on their toes. Maybe even get things fixed.

As input comes in, I will update this first post.

Interesting list Randy. Can you compile one from TDL? But really.. it makes me sad sad sad. I wonder how the other WDW parks would fare...

In regards to Camp M&M.. they used to have jumping water fountains down the rocky river by the side of the walkway.. are those gone for good or just inop?

^ I added it that to the list. TDLFan, someone with your knowledge of the parks will be key to making this work. I will do one of these for every park.

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

The emphasis is on things that are gone or broken, but if something was down and is now working again, it gets mentioned in green, ie the elephant squirters.

The aim is a common sense approach - so someone can look at one page and get an idea of what needs fixing and what has been addressed/ignored by management.

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

Geeez, look at that Dinosaur list. Apparently I've never had the full experience on that ride, because I don't remember most of that stuff.

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

You forgot to mentioned the real live performing CM in that same scene with Little Red, the one who would scream at us.. "Little Red is fine" jada jada.. Along the same lines.. I wonder whatever happened to "Chris", the live CM stage hand that used to be a part of the R&RC preshow scene.

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

You are so funny. Anyways.. the point is.. little things like that is what make or break the expectations at Disney, especially when you go on these rides/shows for the first time. The more they pull the plug on, the lesser impressive things can becomes, especially when some of us know better..

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

wowzers, this really depresses me guys :P

I do wish they'd take care of more of this stuff though...

Fortunately AK is still a feast to the eyes especially compared to all the other parks. Any other park at WDW wishes it was half as pretty (and consistent) as AK.

Re: Animal Kingdom effects and details checklist

Agreed but there is not excuse for so many aspects of the ride's show to be inop.
