Questions about being a dancer at Disneyland or at Disneyworld!!?? :D
Hi! I'm new to MiceChat, and I hope to make new friends here! :D I've always wanted to be a dancer at Disneyland or at Disneyworld, and I was wondering what they are looking for... what height do you have to be? What age do you have to be? And are the dances difficult to do? What is the audition process like? And about what percentage of people that audition get in? Sorry for the many questions, but Im just curious!!! :D
I would greatly appreciate your responses!!! ;D

hm... not sure about your answers as I don't have any knowledge of this but you may be very happy to know that on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, one of the top 20 finalists is a Block Party Bash dancer! He danced with the show in 2008.
I would suggest venturing out into MySpace and look for dancers of these shows to get some of your questions answered if no one here is able to do so.
I remember running into a load of them on MySpace a year ago but I don't know their profile websites at the moment.
Good luck in your Magical Dancing Dreams!
Oh and welcome to MiceChat!
Tip though, it's best not to start up duplicate posts about the same topic, a moderator will end up just combining them into one post, your first one, this one, into a place to ask all your dance questions. ;o)

What are the requirements for you to become a dancer at either disneyland or disneyworld? :) I would greatly appreciate your response!!!

I don't know how old you are, but you might consider doing the Disney College Program. You can audition to be in entertainment.

The only problem with doing the CP is that there are no guarantees that you will be picked for anything. I know people who did entertainment for the CP, and were not trained for anything.

The college program is an internship program between WDW (and DL) and colleges around the US (and some international schools as well). It really is a great experience.

I think you have to be at least 18 to be a dancer at WDW.

My daughter tried out for the Electrical Parade at DCA a few weeks ago. She is not a dancer but just wanted the experience. She was one of the first groups called in (she got there really early) and they showed everyone some dance steps and then had the groups do it. She said it was like "huh?". But if you are a dancer you would probably pick up the moves easily. She also said she froze and probably looked like a deer in the highlights and forgot to smile. So, of course, she didn't move on. She said one guy who was kind of big and sort of lumbered through the whole thing just smiled and laughed and had a good time and he was picked to go through. So there you go ... always smile and act like you know what you are doing.

Thank you so much for all your responses! :D So they look at personality and talent? :) And darn it! 18 years old? I guess I have quite a long time to wait... :'( Do you have to be a specific height to make it in?
