Stitch show closing?

My spy sources inform me there is a very strong possibility the new Stitch show in Tomorrowland will close permanently very soon, due to poor reception from guests. Only a rumor at this time...

Re: Stitch show closing?

Wow! That's fast. When did it open?

They should do us all a favor and close the Stitch attraction at the same time as the show.

Re: Stitch show closing?

The show opened May 5th and it will close June 27th. No news on a replacement yet.

Glad it's going.

The world may be full of stupid people... but this time Disney has underrated the intelligence of itīs visitors. It is one big shame for Disney.

Re: Stitch show closing?

This reminds me, TDL's Tiki show with Stitch is also closed for rehab. If I had it my way, I'd bring back "Catch the Fever".
As for the show closing this quickly, its just another example of the state of shambles the MK's entertainment division really is. I'm just glad Denise got to photograph this, since I won't get to see it and properly rip it apart in an official review.

Re: Stitch show closing?

it seems that Stitch has a habit of producing less than reputable attractions... Stitch Escapes had to be redone right after opening... Tiki Room Stitch is already going down for refurb... and the Intergalactic show is closing...

talk about Stich has a glitch!

There are rumors for lighting and tech upgrades so they can do shows at night, plus seating and shade but for the content of the show I have not read much or seen any official news. I'm hoping for whatever new show they come up with will not involve Stitch and be more like the Tomorrowland Terrance Stage at DL (with, you know, regularly scheduled entertainment).

So does my spy source, the Orlando Business Journal

No one knows what it means yet, but I blogged it at Progress City.

Re: Stitch show closing?

I think this may be more than a rumor. Here's an article talking about the end of the show, and here's another thread on MiceChat mentioning the same thing.

Re: Stitch show closing?

Well...this was inevitable, sooner or later, though thankfully it seems sooner... But still...all that money they spent in building that special stage...which could have gone somewhere else...pity. Will we now have another empty bit of architecture sitting around the park?

Re: Stitch show closing?

well at least they realized this soon enough.
hopefully they'll make some good use out of the area they invested so much into.

i feel bad for stitch...he's definitely one of my most favorite of all disney characters but he just always seems to be used for such not so great shows/attractions....if only he could catch a break, haha.

pity! darn the suits + their attempt to profit off of him.

:/

Re: Stitch show closing?

Yet they still haven't realized that the Stitch attraction is a dog... Frankly they should close and use the space for something else... even a french fry stand would be an improvement.
