News Epcot closed "Living with the Land" ride.... (for refurb)

for some much needed refurbishment to the backstage areas of the ride.

In a statement, the theme park said it plans to reopen the ride this fall after the work is complete. The boat ride takes visitors through a mock-up of the evolution of the land. It has 40 animatronics and takes people through the Disney World greenhouse where more than 30 tons of fruits and vegetables are grown annually.

Unofficial Disney Web sites say the ride was closed Aug. 2 without notice.

I hope it will be open when we get there in Sept. I was really looking forward to that ride.

I believe the official date for it's re-opening is Nov 1st, which means I'll miss it this year. Shame, because we only rode it for the first time in '07 and really liked it.
Haven't been back since, and now we won't be able to check it out.

I'd like to know if this has an impact on the "Behind the Seeds" tour.

i love that ride, i been on it once! i lave tomorrow and there for a week. guess im stuck with nemo..... lolololol

dang it!!!! My husband was really looking forward to riding that on our trip in Sept. That sucks!

Living with the land is great

glad it's just getting a refurb, don't scare me with slogans like that.

While they're working on it though, they should probably get rid of its fastpass. It's just completely unnecessary for the ride and makes the line move funny. When I was at the park last New Years, I noticed it was literally the only attraction that didn't sell out of fastpass.

Rumor is new boats are being installed as well. But that isn't confirmed yet.

Living with the Land is receiving new boats, which apparently are larger than the previous ones, and thus the flume is being modified in certain locations. The video in the barn is also being updated/changed.
