    WDW Hidden Treasures!

My brother and his family are going to WDW this coming Monday, and I would like to get him a list of "hidden treasures" that can be found, collected, seen, visited, etc. I'm looking for things like:
    • little known facts
    • special spots to visit that not many people know about
    • collectable items from attractions (ie. "Death Certificate", etc.)
    • interesting and hard to find details (hidden mickeys, objects, etc.) in parks
    • special things to do
    • the best spots for pictures
    • etc, etc, etc.
I know there is an app on iTunes that he can get for his iPhone for this, but I'm going to bet that the MCers on here know of even MORE great "hidden treasures" that can be found, collected, seen, etc. at WDW.

    Anyone?...

A best spot for photos suggestion...

If you want a great photo of your family in front of the Tree of Life at DAK. There's a TOL path that never has many people on it and makes for a great pic.

If you go to the It's Tough to be a Bug entrance and follow the queue on the LEFT it goes to the path.

Beats having to fight the crowds out front.

If they are staying at a Disney hotel, when they check in tell them to ask for stickers and a coloring book. This started as a joke with us (the first time we went my boyfriend saw another CM give one to a child. When our CM asked if there was anything else she could do for us he asked for a coloring book! I just stared at him as I didn't see the child get one and burst out laughing when the CM handed a grown man one!) and we've done it everytime we've gone. Makes for good scrapbook material too.

Cinderella's horse on the carousel...is the one with the gold ribbon on it's tail.

Look for Mr Toad in the pet cemetary at the Haunted Mansion

if you answer the questions written on the dry erase boards at shops around MK, and get the answer right, they will give you a certificate.

Look for the giant in Mickeys shop next to the castle

They give you stickers? Are they the big Mickey stickers or another kind? And coloring books! I had no idea! I'll definitely ask for some next time!

If you search on Amazon, they should have a book on hidden mickeys somewhere. I think they even sell that book in some of the gift shops, but I imagine you can find it cheaper online.

Most people are so focused on the theme parks, hotels, Water Parks, and Downtown Disney, that they miss some of the little things like Disney World's 4 Miniature Golf courses: Miniature Golf | Walt Disney World Resort

There are two at "Fantasia Gardens" (near the Swan and Dolphin Hotel), and two more at Winter Summerland (near the Blizzard Beach water park). At just $11.75 per 18-hole round for adults, and $9.75 for children 3 to 9 years of age, it can be a real bargain and a great alternative - especially for frequent visitors or those looking to fill in an hour or two of their schedule.

And if you book a package through the Disney Travel Company...they give you a voucher for a free round for one player. APs get 50% off up to 4 players also, so it adds to the bargain!
