Interesting stuff. I wonder why they left out those narration bits in WDW. They were gone from DL for years simply due to decay of the soundtrack but were restored sometime before the Nightmare makeovers started, I'd say around 1999 or so. It'd be nice to see them used in FL as well, since it helps complete the story.
I'm wondering if the singing busts inability to keep up with the soundtrack may be the result of still using magnetic tape instead of digital sound? I'd be surprised, but it's all I can think of..

The Haunted Mansion and Pirates at the MK are awful. Really awful. Both need massive overhauls, quickly. Lets hope Pirates gets some better TLC than usual with the movie refurb coming up, and HM with its upcoming refurb anyway.

Pirates is closing next month till July. Hee hee.

Haunted Mansion is closing this July. (tentative)

Space Mountain is closing for a full year beginning sometime in 2007.

Also, rumors are beginning about some execs recently riding the WDW Jungle Cruise... evidently they want to make it a tad more exciting...

OMG they sooooo better not touch my JC! I dont want to have to manever my boat through water explosions and pirahans. Really all JC REALLY needs is new lighting, new audio, and reprogrammed AAs.

Re: Sad state of the Classics!

I am sorry.. but after riding JC the other day at the MK, and having seen what they have done with DL's and HKDL's JC rides...the MK's JC needs a *lot* of work. Trust me on this one. PLus... a good scrubbing with bleach could help clean the ugly mildew off those boats. They were in disguating shape the other day.

As for Space Mt... bulldoze it and rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. The original Space needs the most attention. Very sad state.

true, MK is a maintenance embarassment, the classics need some TLC, stat! Almost everything feels old and outdated, even the new "rides" feel outdated.

Oh man finally there gonna do something with WDW's horrible Haunted Mansion. Are the changes being made to these rides based on what they originally wanted to do to Disneylands rides for the 50th. or something completly different?

I hope the Jungle Cruise rehab is a bit more exciting then just adding pirhanas and a monkey with a gun.

^^With John Lasseter and PIxar onboard and Bob Iger having a vision for what Disney represents, there could be some very good changes to come.

I have no qualms against pihranas and Monkeys with Guns. Sounds like a winner to me.

I'd love for some of those plussing effects like a floating Leota or something...but we'll have to see how DL's new bride works out before I decide to hope for that.
