Resorts and EPCOT June 2009

On 6/9/09, my father and I decided to head to Florida to watch the launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour on STS-127. The next day, all plans and bookings were made.
Day 1 – Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary
On 6/11 we left our house at 5:00 AM and headed to EWR for our 6:45 flight. Our flight arrived at MCO at 9:00 AM.

Day 2 – EPCOT June 12th
After having breakfast in the hotel, it was off to possibly my favorite place on earth. EPCOT!

I had held off on viewing a full ride video of SSE so this was first first ride since the refurb. I guess I fell in to the trap of dislike of the descent when reading about it online. However, after seeing it in person, I think it is fantastic! I loved every bit of it just as much as the Irons version. My father who knew nothing of the changes made this comment, "It's about time they changed it." The only thing I miss is the final score. And my only complaint is Judie Dench's voice. The narration is great but I do not like her voice in any of her appearances.

StormStruck was a very neat as well.

I was very surprised about how well this attraction was done. I wasn't expecting much after reading a bunch of commentary but I liked it very much. I saw creatures that I had never before seen in the seas pavilion... homo sapiens!














Yes, I enjoyed JIYI very much as well.


















I was not a fan of El Rio del Tiempo so I welcomed this update very much. I love The Three Ceballeros, some of the few characters that I do like. Again, it was very well done with very crisp projections.

The SeaRaycer was a very enjoyable ride. Would have loved to explore some more but we cut it very close to 1 full hour. I gave my dad a few scares though with a few quick turns. I don't think he appreciated them since he is very sensitive to motion.
