![]() | Now many think Matterhorn should be a DL exclusive. Now lets all remember when Space Mountain opened at the Magic Kingdom 2 years later Space Mountain opened up in Disneyland. To me Space Mountain almost seems like the Matterhorn in a sense it should be a Magic Kingdom exclusive, so what I'm saying is in return for Space Mountain we should have recieved Matterhorn.

![]() | Re: Matterhorn in WDW! I think that Matterhorn should stay only at Disneyland. It's one of the main things that keeps Disneyland really unique from the rest of the parks. Disney World has their own exclusives (Expedition Everest). And also, I think that space mountain should not be a comparison because not only does Disneyland have it, but basically all of the parks. So yeah, Matterhorn should stay only at Disneyland, though of course this is coming from someone who lives in California. |

![]() | Re: Matterhorn in WDW! I think it has nothing to do with exclusivity. If we all take off our fanboy goggles for it doesn't take long to realize it's likely that if you built an exact copy of matterhorn at WDW most visitors would think it's super-lame. Most have never been to DL and have no sense of nostalgia or history like you and I might. It wouldn't stand a chance, especially with something like EE to vie for popularity and status. |

![]() | Re: Matterhorn in WDW! I was actually just thinking of putting it in the Swiss Pavilion without knowing they wre actually going to do it. Now as for Everest I totally forgot about that even though I rode it 2 days ago, but if the Matterhorn is a good ride I don't think anyone will care.

![]() | Re: Matterhorn in WDW! I think the charm of the Matterhorn is the fact that it's an old classic at DL and has a lot of sentimental value to people who visit the park. If you built it new, you couldn't really bring all that sentiment with it and because of that, I don't think it'd be nearly as interesting to people as a new ride. While I'm perfectly OK with cloning, WDW pretty much already has their own Matterhorn in Expedition Everest and theirs is on steroids in comparison.

Exactly! Besides, a MK version of the Matterhorn would have to be HUGE, the reason it works so well at DL is because of the size SB's Castle. ![]() This just wouldn't be the same at MK. | |

![]() | Re: Matterhorn in WDW! I believe its obvivious most Micechaters preffer it to stay in Disneyland. If it had to put it somewhere in WDW it would be in the Swiss Pavilion it would draw more visitors to Epcot and the World Pavilion is in serious need of attractions.
