![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea hmm.... I'm not sure about this. I do think Lady Tremane deserves more attention, but what could she do to the riders that would really make a good ride? Make them clean the floors? Lock them in their rooms? Make them so anti-social that their only friends are birds and mice? deny the teens the ability to go to prom? she's a cold old lady, but she's not super evil. |

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea Maybe there could be two seperate tracks. the ride vehicles could start in the load area as two conjoined trains, but when they go through the portal through the screen, they seperate. One train could go to cruella and hades, and one could go to two different villains (maybe Jafar and Scar?). they would meet up in the final scene. this would make the ride go faster while adding more villains (like so many people have asked for). i don't think this is realistic because people might complain that they wouldn't be getting the same ride as others, but this may also make them come back for the other ride experience. what do you think? and tell me which villains would make a great scene (and maybe include your own scenario??). again, any complaints, suggestions, smacks on the wrist or gold stars are welcome and appreciated! |

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea Another small issue with this is that some characters would become overexposed in the parks. For some reason, I kind of have an issue where if Ursula was featured so heavily in The Little Mermaid ride and Fantasmic (DL) then it would be weird to see her in this as well. It's like if we were to include Captain Hook as one of our villains, while he was already featured as our adversary in Peter Pan, it would just feel weird. Anyone else feel this way? |

i kinda agree with you, but the only reason why I chose to use Ursula is for what she represents. She's the "water villain." In the final scene, I imagined the three witches (well, two witches and one dark fairy) calling on the forces of evil and with each one, a different effect begins. by this i mean, when ursula lends a hand, water start bubbling around the guests, the evil queen, wind begins to blow, and when maleficent speaks, fire appears all around the cave lair thing. yeah... confused yet? lol | |

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea I reckon a ride using the Indiana Jones/Dinosaur system would be could. It would use a different layout to Dinosaur to remain unique though. The basic storyline is that guests have been asked to go to take down Maleficent (The queue is in Maleficent's Lair, the uninhabited part). Guests board and take a right into a room as soon as they've left the station to see Maleficent chanting. She summons a portal which the vehicle is driven into. (The time-travel portion in Dinosaur is going up through the portal.) The track from here on out is different to Dinosaur. The vehicles emerge in the Underworld, where all is dark. Suddenly Hades appears in a blast of flame and starts following guests through the dark, reappearing every so often to throw flames. Then Hades creates a giant wall of flame with one gap, which the vehicle speeds through. Guests hear faint hysterical laughter, which grows louder as guests enter a cavernous room filled with hyenas. Scar can only be heard singing 'Be Prepared' at first, as the vehicle swerves through hyenas and shadows of Scar leap across the walls. Then as the vehicles take a dip, they see Scar above on a rocky-cliff, about 4 metres away. Scar is just about to pounce as the vehicles enter through a giant lion head. The vehicles stop momentarily in darkness, then off to the side the Genie appears and tells you to look out for Jafar. The room has fiber-optic lights which light up to reveal you are in the cave of wonders. As the vehicles approach the treasure, Jafar bursts in and raises his staff, which lets off a beam of light. The vehicles then goes haywire as the Genie explains that Jafar has taken control of your vehicle, and Jafar drives you right back into a portal. Guests emerge to see Maleficent back to no good enchanting something, covered in a green aura. The room goes dark as the vehicle moves slowly forward, then the room is lit up by a ball of flame created by Maleficent as she sits on top of Chernabog. As Chernabog lifts his hand up to crush you the vehicles take a sudden dip just in time as Chernabog's hand hits the ground. Guests then see Maleficent in a daze on the floor, thrown off the back of Chernabog. With a mission complete and Maleficent taken care of, the vehicles take the guests back to the entrance of the lair.

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea Yes....I'm liking where this is going. Madame Medusa could run you down with her boat...or could send you spiraling into pit that Penny goes in (kidding). Or her aligators could be part of the chase. She so SCARY. I like the idea of two different tracks. It could be more like the ride would be randomized where the tracks interchange....sort of like Indy but instead of ALWAYS really being on the same tracks the computer would sort the rooms differently each time. I LOVE the cruella part. Don't take that piece out. Someone mentioned Jungle book and I like that...what if there were some piece of the seat that would blow up a little to tighten your fit when you see kaa. Just thinking out loud... |

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea Such good ideas! Why not have the Kaa & Shere Kahn scene pair up with a Queen of Hearts scene? The vehicles travel into the portal and you find yourself in a dark jungle, similar to the one in Dinosaur, but more claustrophobic and denser. You travel quickly through the underbrush when you're suddenly confronted with Shere Kahn, lit up in blue and orange lights. You pause in front of him when he says: "My quarry, I presume..." and he begins to get ready to pounce. You quickly travel around him as thunder and lightning starts! You swerve around in the deep blue darkness, lit up at intervals by lightning. The lightning reveals several limited-motion animatronics, his eyes lit in a yellow and an air blast adding to the thrill of his pouncing. You suddenly run into Kaa, with large, spinning, hypnotic eyes. He's on a large tree and, as you approach, he comes closer and you the vehicle sways back and forth. He says "Trusssst in me..." and the room becomes pitch black and only his gruesome eyes are visible. You travel through a large portal that appears in the tree and you see many eyes staring at you in many directions. One peculiar set of eyes at the end of the tunnel grows a mouth and a swirly body... it's the Cheshire Cat! He exclaims: "Everybody's mad around here!" as you exit the tunnel of eyes. You continue forward toward a group of rose trees, some red and some white (and some dripping with paint!). From behind the wall hedge (which is directly behind the trees) the Queen of Hearts pops out and says "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!". You continue forward and race through the topsy-turvy hedge maze coming into contact with several special effects. You see several cards popping up from the hedge's other side, cards make an arch which you pass under, and just when you think you're going down a safe path a card pops out into your route, blocking your way. You turn into a dead end and crash through the hedge and you crash through several more cards disguising doors. You pop through the last card and you enter into the finale room...

![]() | This is a great idea. I just have a couple quick suggestions- there are 3 ride vehicles I thought would be good for this: the Indiana Jones/Dinosaur Vehicle, the Star Tours vehicle (but improved as I will soon say) or the one mentioned in the original concept, the dark ride vehicle with the 180˚ spin. First off, the Indy vehicle. This is one of the best ride vehicles disney uses. George McGinnis is the amazing imagineer who developed it, and we all sing high praises to him for it. The only draw back is that it can't spin, and it can't get wet. When I read the original concept at the top, I tought of Ursula's room as being able to spit a few drops on the riders, like we are a part of her world (no pun intended). These vehicles however, have an exposed power line in the track, so unless the water jests are VERY small and onboard, it limits the interraction between ride and vehicle. Second, the Star Tours vehicle. My idea was to do a motion simulator like the one found in Star tours, but to have 360˚ of screens so when we are being chased, and flying in several different directions, we can look around and see the character in real time. This also is more cost efficient because all you need is the ride housing, and a hand drawn/digitally enhanced show to project, possibly in 3D, as is the trend with so much today. And the third vehicle, as previously mentioned, is great. I love the idea of spinning to look at the pursuers. This is a wonderful idea. Now as for the selection of which villains to include, good luck. they're all so great, I could never choose just a few.

A conjoined train however is a fantastic idea, I'm thinking like a zipper, rather than joined in sequence, but that opens up a whole different set of potential uses.

![]() | Re: Disney Villains Ride Idea Okay, stick with me on this... There is a way to do this and not need a "hero" per se. As you start the ride, you see an AA of a father or mother tucking their child into bed... heck, it could even be another Disney character who is child or child-like personality. As they drift off, the dream opens a portal that the riders go through. As the tension of the villains chasing the riders throughout the ride, you build to the culmination of the action when you hear an alarm ring, all of the villains chasing spin away into like a vortex as riders go through a similar portal to the opening one and see the character waking up to the alarm clock. Then you get the resolution (plus the way for parents to give their little ones piece of mind that the "bad guys" were only a dream). Just a thought, but if done right could be pretty fantastic |
