More friends arrive: we connect with our pals Sarah as Russell the Wilderness Explorer and Jeremy as Carl Fredrickson from "Up" (complete with stuffed Dug). Russell was constantly trying to trick Carl into being assisted ("May I hold this door for you, sir?" "May I help you cross the hub?").



So, it was time for another group shot.



These Alices ate from opposite sides of the mushroom.

Another friend arrived as Doug's Quail Man alter ego. Somehow I never got a solo shot of that, though you can see him in several of the group photos that follow.

After a quick, convenient dinner at Cosmic Rays, it was back out for more of the party. We met up with the Tremaine family, holding court in what is normally Belle's story area.



Please note Gaston's face indicates he is not prepared to trade Belle for Drizella.


As the night finally begins to grow dark, the poison apple begins to glow!



And attracts the eye of a little Snow White.

At Alice and the Mad Hatter's Treat Party, photo opps abound for Christa and her Alice costume.

Nice to see the White Rabbit out and about again.

At this point, it seems like our Alice is hogging all the good photo opps, right? My picture with the tiny Belle was nice, but I'd like to meet some more Beauty and the Beast characters too. And then, I got to have my picture taken with something better than I'd ever hoped:



Baby Gaston! This made me so happy.

"Finally," I said. "I get to have a picture with someone as good-looking as I am!"

I just want to say that you guys are the best! I remember seeing your pics on the Haunted Mansion Lj group and just being amazed last year....seriously. I had been wanting to get over to the park for Halloweentime for a while but seeing your pics really made me decide to just do it this year. I wish you guys were going to be there when we go! lol.

Continuing our adventures at MNSSHIP:

At this point it was almost time for the first run of the parade for the
night, so we took the opportunity to ride the Fantasyland attractions
while the lines were really short and catch the later showing of the
parade.



The Old Hag lurks near Snow White's wishing well.

Next it was Tiger Lily's turn to see herself in a dark ride.

An odd assemblage of characters learns that it’s a small world after all.
In Florida, this is the only time Disney characters are seen in it's a
small world.

After we loaded up on some more treats in Frontierland, it was time to
head to the hub for the fireworks.

Ursula encounters her arch-enemy. For some reason King Triton has legs.
Possibly he is King Triton from The Little Mermaid 4: Daddy Comes to
Dinner.

Russell and Carl know adventure is out there... in Adventureland!



Tiger Lily faces her one-time captors, Captain Hook and Smee. She is utterly fearless. Has the Smee costume been redesigned? I think so.

Next it was time to scope out a spot for the parade. It rained lightly
during the parade, but at that point we were all so hot that the slight
misting was actually a bit of a relief. Here are just a few parade
highlights:



The new Haunted Mansion graveyard float.

Cruella stopped during the parade to compliment our trio of villains.
Barbossa, spotting the Old Hag's apple stopped by to compare his with hers (and I was too slow on the camera). Snow White recoiled in horror at the sight of her enemy.



Shootin' Gallery: No one shoots like Gaston, makes those beauts like Gaston. No one eats lots of beans and then toots like Gaston.



Creepy!



In the Frontierland store, Alice finds a hedgehog to complete her croquet
set!

I totally saw your friends...the hag and Sally!!!!! I saw them coming out of the Frontierland entrance where the restrooms are...I told the hag "nice costume'!


I had NO idea you were going...we could have met up!

You might have seen us...I was the evil queen, my husband was Maccus (the sharkman from POTC) and our daughter was the tightrope walker from HM.

Oh, Stitchy! That's too bad. We must've just missed each other too - Our group was never too far apart. I was probably over getting that picture at the Shooting Gallery when you were seeing my friends. I'm sure if I had seen your daughter s the tightrope walker, I might've guessed that was you. We'll have to see some of your pictures too. Sorry I missed you.

I just wish we had seen each other....my daughter would have loved for someone to know who she was. The only people who recognized her were the people working HM. As we would walk by, we would hear little girls ask their parents who they were supposed to be. She got "mary poppins" more than once...and that made her mad. Poor thing.

Next, it was time for the Villains Mix and Mingle, the strangely sexual dance show in front of the castle. Afterward, we met some villains.



Alice meets the Queen of Hearts, who immediately steals her flamingo.



I wasn't planning on having a picture with her, but the Queen of Hearts demanded. And directed. And yes, I'm aware that that's almost certainly a man in that costume.



There was very little love for poor Frollo. Really, what is this guy doing here, though? Sure, he's a villain, but he certainly doesn't know that!

The night was now nearing an end, but there was still time left for one last trip though the Haunted Mansion.

Did you know there are several hidden Sallys in the WDW Haunted Mansion. This one was not too hidden.

All night, people kept calling our Tiger Lily "Pocahontas." Here, she demonstrates how different they look.

Finally, in the party's final moments, Sally meets her Jack Skellington.



...and then immediately meets him again! Where have you guys been?

And that was the end of a wonderful and exhausting evening. Our feet crying in agony, our bags heavy with candy, but our hearts light, we made our way back to the bus.


Something about riding the bus in these costumes struck me as comical.


At this point, we had been awake approximately 21 hours after just a few hours sleep.



Exhausted, but our trip was just beginning!


Also, When I got back to the room and finally took my wig off, there was a lovely deep crease across my forehead. It took over a week for to (almost) complete fade.
