Rate Monster’s INC Laughing Floor

There is talk that they are going to install MILF into Tomorrowland at Disneyland. I head at the D23 Expo that the show has improved greatly since it first started.

I have not seen this show so it’s to all of you who have seen it to rate it.

Re: Rate Monster’s INC Laughing Floor

Here's my thoughts on MILF:

I really think it's a good show, in itself. It takes the technology behind Turtle Talk and does something completely different with it. There has never been a stand-up comedy-based show at WDW before, to my knowledge, so in my eyes it's a pretty unique concept for an attraction. And it's often pretty darn funny. (I have a pretty bad memory, so rides like the Jungle Cruise and MI Laugh Floor have a pretty high repeat-quality for me).

But as good a show as it is, it fails in that isn't relevant to Tomorrowland at all. It's been given some pretty valuable real estate in the MK (right in the Tomorrowland entry, next to Stitch), so it's thematic irrelevance only further muddles the already-toonified Tomorrowland. If the show were in a little hidden ally off Pixar Place at Hollywood Studios, it could potentially be one of my favorite attractions at WDW. It's where they put it, and the lack of thematic support it has there, that I can't get over.

I saw it a few years ago and it was painful. I literally felt dumber walking out of it. I miss Timekeeper.

I did laugh the first time. After that it was the same show, little repeatability.

I was Randal when I saw it! When Mike said "disappear" I hurried and hit the floor, he said there mouth open and my wife was in tears... Thats all I really remember.

Are you serious? You can't enjoy something because of where it's located in the park? That seems a little extreme.

It's cute and fun. It depends on the crowd too, I think. It's maybe a once a trip thing (as in... once in a week long trip)

WDW is using MILF to just have something in that building. It's a very poor show but it's inexpensive to operate and it serves to soak up a few guests.

Creatively speaking, it's a shame they used the "Turtle Talk" technology for MILF. It just goes to show that WDW is not as interested in quality as they once were and the Pixar minds are not improving the shows.

Of course, Turtle Talk is a masterpiece.

The first time we saw it was on Halloween night during MNSSHP. I was dressed up as Boo that night so my opinion may be biased. They also used my texted joke in the show so to me it was fantastic. We all certainly laughed a lot.

While I am against MILF being in Tomorrowland, it wouldn't impact my enjoyment of the attraction at all. I will get my first chance at experiencing it next month and I'll judge it solely on how it entertains me.

Re: Rate Monster’s INC Laughing Floor

The show is doing much better in the poll than I would have guessed. Its somewhere between OK and Good in my book. And I don't take issue with that, not everything needs to be an E-Ticket or the Main Event. TTA for example, I would also rate as somewhere between OK and Good, but I LOVE it. Kick back, relax and enjoy.

The issue is location. It does NOT belong in Tomorrowland. I disagree with toontowning the park in any land except Fantasy and well... Towntown. Duh. But if your going to do it (and lets face it, Disney is going to do it), please at least do it right.

MILF belongs at the Studios, where "Drew Carey's Sound's Dangerous" Attraction was. Very occasionally still is. It would have been a great add to the park there. It baffles me they put it in TuneToon... I mean Tomorrowland of all places.

Re: Rate Monster’s INC Laughing Floor

A few mornings ago I was waiting for the train to get to work.........I'd just missed one train so I had 15 minutes to kill. My phone only had one bar so music was out but there was a crow flying back and forth between a bag of burger king food in the middle of the road and a telephone line above.

Down he would swoop and nibble for a few seconds until a car came and then up he'd go back on the wires. He'd cah cah a few times at no one in particular and then swoop back down for a nibble until another car came.

Back and forth up and down "cah" and "cah" on and on for 15 minutes.

That was at least 500 times more entertaining than the laugh floor.

Really, it's that bad.

Re: Rate Monster’s INC Laughing Floor

i personally love Monsters. i will admit that the jokes are repeated for every show but what makes it hilarious is the guest's reactions. if you have guests that are being difficult and don't want to cooperate, it's going to be an uncomfortable show. mind you, i watch the show every week. my favorite part of the show is when they ask kids questions. it's like watching the show, "kids say the darnedest things." one time, i was holding the mic for a little girl and marty asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. the little girl responded, "i wanna be a horse!" i had to cover my face because i was about to die laughing AND i'm still holding this mic! the guest interaction is what really makes the show.

That's very true. Do you think the Southern California audience, which comprises of mostly locals will fill it in long enough for it to work?

i think so. i think it might be better there than here. since DL is mostly locals, they'll have more interaction and responses from the guests since they speak English. WDW mostly has guests from all over so it's a bit challenging to interact w/ a guest when they don't speak English. we get about 1 walk-out every show. most of the time is because they don't speak English and don't understand. and the jokes are repeated because we don't have that many scripts. the WDW audience is mainly first-time guests. DL will most likely have more scripts since they have the same recurring guests.
