Kind of a dumb name if that's really the case....

You'd think "Moms" sort of specified gender, wouldn't you?

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

Looking at the site, there is at least one male "mom" among the panel.

On another front, I wonder if identifying yourself as an active member of MiceChat would help or hurt your chances of making the panel.

Did any of you applicants bring up MiceChat?

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

I'm thinking the name "Mom's Panel" may have something to do with being a place for moms to get answers. I hope that is the case, as I am a male, but I would love to be a part of it. When they say be available to be at the park Dec. 4-8, I hope they don't mean every day, as I would be writing exams that week.

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

It is sexest. Their disclaimer policy, which is abiding by federal law, even states it is sexest. I wonder why WESH or other media has not done an article on this. Lot of single guys that are mom and dad as well as single moms that are mom and dad. But nothign coming from Disney surprises me anymore. They don't always think before inserting foot. My wife and I always plan things together and we travel when we feel like it. Been to WDW every year for the past 12 years, sometimes twice a year, with our daughter who loves it, but she is starting to get tired of it. YAY! Lot more to see and do in this big world. We plan on taking her to England and other places in Europe in the coming years.

I still have tickets that were used at Disneyland back in the early 70's. Disney is definitely not run like Walt used to run things. And yes, it does get boring, but some people like living in a fantasy.

Disney should be paying ten's of thousands of dollars for the advice they will be getting. Just another way for them to save money similar to the college program. Disney employ's 5-6 thousand or so college students without benefits, make them pay for their place to stay and get them to work for next to nothing. They also save millions in benefit payments etc.

If they want these "moms" there in December then Disney should pay for their transportation, their place to stay, their meals and any other expenses. But people feel important if they get picked, helps their ego etc I guess lol.

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

I am not sure about this but I don't think you get paid to be on the panel. THis is supposed to be a group of moms who give travel advise to other parents when planning their disney trips. I think the first group got a trip to disney as compensation but I could be wrong.
this is just the the cruiseline doing " house parites" in order to get info out about the cruiseline. sure saves them alot of money on advertising while getting diehard fans to give their" expert" advise.

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

I am working on my application. I also applied last year, but did not get in...

As stated in the "program details" section...Persons who are selected as panelists will receive a complimentary trip to Walt Disney WorldŽ Resort in preparation for this exciting program.

They have had "Disney Moms Panel Dads" in the past, as well. Good luck to all those who enter.

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

I applied. I was worried about not being a mom but it said in their video you don't have to be a mom or even female. If your the person who plans the trips they say you can apply. Do any of the moms on the panel now or applying really care about getting paid? No, probably not it's just fun. Personally I'll answer 15 questions a week about something that I usually spend a couple hours every week on a website talking about for free. I'll also take that free trip!

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

Heard from Disney today, and I wasn't accepted. Surprise, Surprise. Their loss, not mine.

I'll just apply next year. Honestly, I don't even read the comments the current moms make! LOL.

Re: Moms Panel Now Accepting Applications

I wasn't accepted either but I have to say their email was a bit confusing. They had said they weren't going to email us so I was a bit excited when I got it and as I read it almost sounded like I was moving on to the second round. Oh well there is always next year!
