Re: Halloweentime at WDW

I guess I've just become used to the fact that things are WAY more expensive these days and just keep increasing and aren't going to change. We all want Disney to be $30 or less and gas to be $1.50 a gallon but it's in the past. Ain't no fun in fussin over somethin like that.

I would also venture a guess that WDW costs scads more to run than DLR/DCA and international parks so DLR/DCA can afford to add the extra special thoughts and touches.

Anyway, I paid my $52 and I'll be going on the 6th, I honestly can't wait. All the kids and adults in costumes, getting to be a "big kid" for a night and trick-or-treat, seeing the parade and fireworks, going on rides with less crowds, it'll be awesome!

Good spirit! Go and have fun with. I have done it before. out of curiosity, way would WDW cost scads more to run? No saying otherwise, but then again, I am not sure why it would. Park per park anyway. Total resort vs. Total resort, well clearly yes because of the size and scope, but MK vs. DL. Honestly I would think DL would be more expensive. Higher labor costs and more attractions. I would imagine TDS is the mother of all expensive parks to operate.

I meant the total resort, WDW in full vs DLR, I can see why the smaller of the two would get more attention to detail.

Re: Halloweentime at WDW

Is it bad that I'm actually quite glad that WDW does not produce the 'Nightmare before christmas' overly at Haunted mansion? I am a season pass holder for Disneyland, and as much as I like 'Nightmare before christmas', the overlay has become quite old and irritating to me, but I will give an explanation. I would quite enjoy the overlay if it only happened throughout the christmas period. However, Disneyland closes Haunted Mansion in September to produce the overlay, and it continues until January when they then close the ride. Thats approximately 5-6 months a year without the classic. I would much prefer the original during halloween, but then again thats just my opinion.
On the bright side a may be visiting WDW for the first time next weekend :]. I'm very excited :]

No truer statement was ever made. I have always argued that WDW's biggest set back is it's size.

Magenta Panther Has a good reputation
Re: Halloweentime at WDW

I've been to Mickey's Not So Scary etc. and I was frankly unimpressed. Unless you have kids, it's a bit of a bust. The fireworks display was okay, just okay. The special parade, also okay. The decor...big deal.

I recently watched a video of the fireworks at DL and was really blown away by it. WDW has NOTHING like that. Too bad.

Re: Halloweentime at WDW

I'd like to ask if anyone knows what time the parade and fireworks are during the trick-or-treat from 7pm. I'm having dinner at 6:30pm and have tickets for the "Not So Scary..." and was wondering if I'll be missing anything from 7pm. Thank you!
