Cool The British Invasion

Has anyone seen the updated British Invasion Show lately? We saw it in September and was a little surprised at the song selection....at first. We are big Beatles fans and of course hearing Hermans hermits was a shock........we visited again later in our trip and enjoyed the set more.
What do others think of the change?

What? When did this change happen? They've played all Beatles tunes for years!

Re: The British Invasion

They changed back in July. Now in each set they start off with a couple Beatles' songs, then do a few from other british invasion bands, then usually end with another Beatles song.

I've known the guys in the band for years, and when I first heard of this, I was really mad. I am a Beatles fan, and I didn't think I'd like the other stuff at all. I wanted to hear Beatles!

I finally went to the park again this past Saturday, and again yesterday, and heard the "new" stuff for the first time. I actually did know all the songs, and it was still alot of fun. I could be a little biased since the guys are friends of mine, but I still thought they sounded great.

I took this on Saturday...

Re: The British Invasion

Ok I can deal with some Kinks, but I'm not a fan of Herman's Hermits. Now if they do some old Bowie or some Stones I could deal with that too.

Re: The British Invasion

I still want to see the Sergeant Pepper set and the WHite ALbum set.....they are the best. But that said, these guys are talented.

Re: The British Invasion

Yeah I do miss the different "looks" they had been doing, the Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road costumes.

In the later shows they do some Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, other good stuff I can't remember right now... I'm not a Herman's Hermit's fan, either. When I first heard they were changing from all Beatles, I was afraid they would only be doing Hermit's type stuff. Glad I was wrong.

Re: The British Invasion

Agreed............I became more of a Beatles fan because of them. ALthough, lots of good music from that era came form Great Britain. So we will have to see.

Re: The British Invasion

Back when I first saw them, they did Herman's Hermits and other British Invasion bands instead of just The Beatles. This was probably back in 1997 or so.

Of course, if you go to the Flower & Garden Festival, you just may get to see Peter Noone for real.

Re: The British Invasion

I'd love to see them do Side 2 of Abbey Road in its entirety. A local band here used to do it and got kind of well known in the area for it.
