Far out.. no more princessy colors on the monorail! Whatever happened to that thread where there was a huge debate on whether or not they should retire the colors or not?

![]() | Re: What's going on with the WDW monorail accident investigation? New trains will not and should not be considered until 2014 at a bare minimum. That is when the oldest train will turn 25. The youngest trains on the system right now are younger than me. I'm not sure what changes can be made to the system to improve it. Sure there is always something to add like physical signal lights at hold points or even GPS tracking of trains but is it really worth the extra cost of implementing and maintaining these systems? The simpler the better and it works great right now.

![]() | Re: What's going on with the WDW monorail accident investigation? I rode up front with Austin a few hours before he died. I feel sure he would want riding up front to be reinstated as soon as it's deemed safe. I really hope they do. It's magical.

you rode with him only hours before?? wow!!!That's so sad though I guess no one could've guessed that his life would be taken from him so soon after. But yeah, I agree that the riding up front should come back soon

Yeah, two of my girlfriends and I. It was our graduation trip and it was mid-afternoon of our first day there. I asked to sit up front because it was both of their first times in the World. There was actually a couple waiting there who claimed they'd been told they could sit up front, but the guy said he hadn't been asked by them and so let us go on the first train that came up. It's so strange how little coincidences can change your life... But we sat up front with him. And he was one of those people who seemed to really love their job. He told us how he had earlier worked at Rock 'n' Rollercoaster but had always wanted to work on the monorail. We thought he was totally hot and my girlfriends and I mooned over him for the rest of the day. As we were walking down the exit ramp we called his name and when he looked at us, my friend yelled, "Austin, we love you!" and he smiled. The next morning, we got a text message while waiting in line to meet the Stepsisters, "There was a monorail crash, you guys are alright, right?" the thought crossed our minds, that dreadful feeling, but we dismissed the idea. It wasn't till that evening that we found out it was him. It was constantly on our minds for the rest of our trip... I don't claim to know him well or anything, but I think about him a lot. It really makes you think about the tiny things that somehow alter the future.
