Admission lowered to the Princess Diana exhibit at Downtown Disney

I was at Downtown Disney yesterday and saw they lowered the price for adult admission for the Princess Diana exhibit in the former Virgin Megastore. It used to be $14.95, but it's been lowered to $10. The exhibit only runs for another month & a half (it ends November 30th).

Still don't think I'd be interested in stopping in. But it will be wierd not being able to stop in the Virgin store always found some great buys in there.

Any word yet on what the plans are for the building?

I was told by a Virgin rep that it was going to become a 'heavily themed' restaurant - Virgin do their welcome meetings at the HOB across the way, so there may be some inside knowledge. They are quite tight with Disney...

I've heard rumors it might become an ESPN Zone. I could deal with that, but I'd rather have the Virgin Megastore back. I used to be able to find import and obscure CDs I couldn't find anywhere else, not even on iTunes or on Amazon. I always get sad every time I walk by there now.

Yeah I knew about the ESPN Zone rumor, which I'd be okay with, but would rather have the megastore back too. I was just wondering if any firm plans had been made yet. I just think enough with the restaurants in Downtown, all of PI is gone to make way for that already do we need to loose more for another restaurant ontop of the ones already there.

    No surprise.

    ESPNZone is great.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Did anybody buy tickets to this? What could be more exploitative than a Princess Diana exhibet at Downtown Disney Orlando?

The money goes to The People's Princess Charitable Foundation, which uses that money to support causes Diana supported when she was alive.

The People's Princess Charitable Foundation's Mission Statement (take from their website, http://www.changingtheheartoftheworl...mission.html):

It all started with the royal dresses of a beloved Princess...TPPCF, Inc. was organized “to acquire, maintain, preserve, and display to the public items of historical and cultural interest relating to Diana, the Princess of Wales” and “to conduct, both directly and through grants to other charitable organizations, activities in furtherance of the charitable and educational purposes supported or endorsed by the late Diana, Princess of Wales, during her lifetime… including but not limited to the prevention, treatment, cure, and alleviation of suffering from AIDS, related disorders, and cancer, and injuries caused by land mines, and the provision of care and services for disadvantaged children.”

What originated with the purchase of 14 dresses of a royal Princess has led Ms. Rorech Dunkel to state that the philosophy of the Foundation is “using beautiful things to do beautiful things”. She is dedicated to continuing the model of humanitarian action as personified by the late Princess Diana’s own sale of her personal “treasures” for distribution to charities working in the fields of AIDS, related disorders, cancer, injuries caused by land mines, and the provision of care and services for disadvantaged children. The Foundation has developed a multi-faceted platform to further its causes.
