Well, I go every year, so barring any unforseen disaster, I'll be there!

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

Like Wonderpup, I live a couple hours away from WDW. So long as I still live in the state of Florida, I WILL go.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I'm probably going to WDW and Universal (Harry Potter!) with my parents sometime in 2010. As for 2011, if DLR gets Little Mermaid and Star Tours 2 before WDW does, my odds of being there for the 40th will go down dramatically. I'll say 50/50 chance for now.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I'll probably be there because I go every year!

That said, I hope they do more for the 40th than they did for the 35th, or for Epcot's 25th. They haven't been so good about observing anniversaries lately. I hope for the 40th they get flashy new fireworks shows for the parks, new parades, maybe even new (or old) rides, like Disneyland got for its 50th.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I made a special trip to WDW to celebrate the 25th. For my trouble, I got to hang out in Tomorrowland near a big diamond vision tv screen and watch while the 1076 member band marched down Main Street and Eisner and Hillary spoke at the main stage in front of the castle. I was so pissed at Disney for promoting this big event and then not letting me anywhere near it. So no, I won't be making any special effort for the 40th. I'll be visiting a couple times a year, just like I always do. But I'll be avoiding Oct. 1, 2011 like the plague.

hmmmm...ya'll bring up some good points. I wonder if they will do anything to promote the anniversary? It may not be worth going.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I'll be making a trip for the important 40th anniversary in 2011.
(I'm about 6 weeks older than WDW)

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I'm hoping for a new parade for the 40th Anniversary! However, I have a strange feeling that it won't happen because of "space issues" like with PoD, which could have replaced the snowglobe parade...sorry, not-snowglobe-anymore parade that isn't great. I also have a strange feeling that there will be no marketing campaign about the 40th. Maybe another shot of some Dreams marketing crud.
If all they have is pins and merch like that then I'm going to DL, not WDW.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

Echo that. If there are new parades and shows, it's definitely worth a trip from CA. But even if not, and I happen to own DVC by then, then absolutely!

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

My family and I are planning on visiting in 2011. But we don't want to take the kids out of school or go during the peak summer days. So we were thinking Spring Break (not as busy as summer). But I guess the new Fantasyland or 40th anniversary won't be ready then.

Re: Will you go to the 40th anniversary?

I just went to Disney World last year at Thanksgivng for the first time. Before we had gotten back on the palne to come home, my wife and I had already decided we were going to go back in 2021 for the 50th.
About a month ago we started talking about going back for the 40th, especially if we could make the trip on my birthday 11-11-11.

Yeah, we're hopefully going to the 50th. We've been talking about it for a while. our daughter will be 19 then. So, me and hubby say that will be our first trip just the two of us. We'll celebrate her leaving and going to college.

We just started talking about going to the 40th on this last trip. Hubby wants to take a break from WDW. So, we are planning to go to Tennessee on our family vacation next year, and will go back to WDW in 2011. Just in time for the anniversary. I'm already planning our costumes for MNSSHP!
