    Surprise Fastpass

Now I know that gastpasses can be a touchy subject here but personally I use them all the time. It makes the park easier to do in my opinon. I understand the draw backs but they are here to stay so I use them.

That being said today i was getting a FP for Winnie when A Surprise Fastpass popped out at me for Philharmagic at 1(it was already 1). I have never heard of this before. Has anyone? I went over to Philharmagic an there was no line and all fp were for that time. I'm wondering if they give them out to get people excited to ride something that doesn't have a big crowd.

    Any thoughts?

    Wow, interesting.

Never heard of it, even though I'm not too familiar with WDW.

    Re: Surprise Fastpass

You are correct; they offer "suprise" Fastpasses to attraction that they would like to boost attendance. I've heard of a few of them before, like HISTA at EPCOT (and even Body Wars when it was still open!); I've also heard of Philharmagic and Buzz on occassion gives one for the Caroussel of Progress. I'm not sure of the frequency and the exact list, but that's the info I have.

    Re: Surprise Fastpass

Yep, I've received a Fastpass for the Carousel of Progress when getting one from Buzz Lightyear. It was very convenient, because the Carousel and lunch entertained us until our time for Buzz arrived. It's a pretty clever idea to boost attendance, really - it gets the average guest to see an attraction that probably would not have been on their radar otherwise, and keeps the theater full. And it's certainly a better way to combat the show's dropping attraction than the plan Disney came up with a few years ago, which was to close it.

    Re: Surprise Fastpass

I have some friends that got a "Surprise Fastpass" for Carousel of Progress when they were getting their Space Mountain Fastpasses. Also, out here at DL, they've given them out with Space Mountain Fastpasses for Honey I Shrunk the Audience, for what it's worth.
