    "New" FL Resident Weekly Pass

I was listening to the radio and I heard them mention a new FL resident "Weekly Pass" and I wanted to check it out. Apparently they are offering a ticket that allows you access M-F for $169 plus tax with certain black out dates. Those dates seem to reflect the same black out dates as the FL Seasonal Pass as well as all Saturday's and Sunday's.

Walt Disney World&reg - Walt Disney World&reg - Special Offer

Feel free to use zip code 33615 to view the information.

Introducing The Disney Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass! Now you don't have to wait for the weekends to have fun. Our new Seasonal Weekday Pass just for Florida residents lets you take advantage of the weekdays when the parks are less crowded, entitling you to visit Walt Disney World Resort over 180* weekdays for just $169 plus tax! You get lots of T.G.I. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday magic at a great price too! What's more, you can enjoy all the Passholder perks like Disney Resort hotel offers, dining, merchandise discounts and exclusive Passholder events.
I think that the FL residents that live close could enjoy this but I think the majority of us only go on weekends. If I lived that close I would just buy the AP anyway so this doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

You now have Disneyland's SoCal Select pass.

Looks like the pencil-pushers want some of that AP cashflow in WDW.

Re: "New" FL Resident Weekly Pass

Hmm, this makes sense considering what Al Lutz said in his article this morning:

...Meanwhile, the new Disney Parks executive structure has leaders out in the boonies of Orlando that are only seeing the huge dollar signs attached to the growing number of Passholders here in Anaheim. With WDW attendance slipping by single digits, the double digit attendance gains that Anaheim has made in 2009 has them giddy with excitement
This could be good news in the long run. The many passholders/repeat visitors to Disneyland (who've swollen in numbers recently because of the SoCal Pass) act as a defender of quality for the resort, because they will notice a decline in show between frequent visits. A similar group of repeat visitors for WDW might force TDO to bring up its lagging show standards.

They would announce that the week before I move back tho Vegas. Oh well I'm gonna just have to get a SoCal pass.
He felt like his life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

That's EXACTLY what they want. Bring in the quick cash - now!

You know, everything I have EVER read about Walt reveals that $$ income was NEVER his top priority. Give the public an exceptional experience, and the $$ will naturally follow.
