    Red Face Best Moderate Resort

    Hello there!

There is a chance I am getting very spoilt this year by my gorgeous mother who wants us to take a family vacay to WDW and stay on property, sometime in Sept - Nov.

As the resident disney nutter she has asked me to find the best place to stay and that's where I need your help. Despite going to the parks more times than I can count we have usually stayed in off property hotels or at a rented villa, so I have no clue about the moderate resorts. What would you all recommend?

There are 5 adults going and as close as we are as a family, I can't see us sharing one room, so any resorts that have suites would be excellent.

Any feedback would be amazing and I would be very gratefull!

    Thanks

    xxx

I suggest Port Orleans Riverside. I'm not sure if they have suites but the theming is wonderful.

Unfortunately none of the moderates have suites. If you want to share the same room then I would recommend either a Deluxe resort or maybe the All Star Suites they have at the values.

Honestly though, my opinion is you should just stay off site and get more bang for your buck.

If money is no object I'd go with a villa at one of the deluxes or a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

Actually, the Coronado Springs resorts does have suites. We stayed in an executive suite in 2006. They are located in Casitas 1 if I am not mistaken and they're very large. But, I think I would probably just go for two regular rooms. While the suite was very nice you can get two regular rooms for a much better price

I was wondering if two rooms would be better than one suite and there you go.

The only thing you have to be careful with that, is adjoining rooms isn't guaranteed but they do the best they can to accommodate.

However I didn't know they had Suites at the Coronado, good to know for the future.

Any Hotel that has DVC has suites, so that would include Coronado Springs.

We LOVED the suite at the Value resort--however, if you have five adults? Not too sure about that. But you can stay in rooms adjace...adjecen....ajdge....next to each other.

We are never really in our rooms--outside of one year when we had to watch the Oscars and I wasn't about to let that pass me by--so the Values are perfect.

Make sure you take bunches of photos to share with us!

When I was planning my last vacation to Disney World, I was looking for a room with 3 beds. Three beds, because my 16 year old grandson, his mother, and myself all required our own beds in order to sleep comfortably on our 8 night vacation. After much looking, we decided on 2 rooms at Pop Century. We ended up with connecting rooms, and it was very nice. If you get a good night's sleep on vacation, it makes a world of difference.

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

    Re: Best Moderate Resort

I looked at the question again. I have stayed at all the moderate hotels, except for the French Quarter. Hopefully, I will get to stay there one day as well. When my grandson and I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, we walked over to the French Quarter, so Sean could swim. He only got to swim for a little bit, because it started raining. We did visit the foodcourt to get out of the rain. We checked out the grounds, after the rain subsided, and the French Quarter is definitely the smallest of the moderate resorts.

I liked Port Orleans Riverside a lot, and it is just a short boat ride away from Downtown Disney.

Even though I liked Caribbean Beach, it was way too spread out for my liking, and the lobby and the foodcourt are in two different locations.

I really liked Coronado Springs. It also is a really big place. I was there in December, so I didn't get to check out the pool area. Some people don't like their food court system, but I learned it after a few days.

Each resort has a different theme, of course, and sometimes that sways a person's decision.

Carribean Beach is my personal fave. Just ask for two rooms right next to each other. Did that with my sister and it worked out great. The moderates rooms are bigger than the values. Enjoy!

Good thing there is only 1 moderator in that group

I LOVED!!! the Caribbean Beach, too, but I think that depends on which little pack of rooms you get.

Two rooms is your best bet.

But Port Orleans Riverside's Alligator Bayou section does sleep five. One in a trundle bed. Which can sleep a small-ish adult, as far as I'm aware.
