I agree, I nice long tunnel in the back side with a show inside would be a wonderful addition to the WDW RR, and if done right it could also hide the overpass the train passes under prior to entering toon town.
Looking at the image of it... Any one else notice that the tea cups seem to be missing from the 35 model? Should they not be to the right of the Grand Prix?
I like the enthusiam, but can you really get good pics of the construction shot from the MK? lol
As of today, new walls are up in Fantasyland. Looks to be the beginning of the castle wall construction... but it's too early to tell. Could just be the removal of the planter located to the right of Dumbo. (as looked at facing North)
wdwmagic is reporting the Exposition Hall will close to make way for the meet and greets on April 2. The Store will remain open during construction.
Disney's reporting that, not WDWmagic. lol. They just picked it up. No need to reference of give credit to that site.
Besides, the actual Expo Hall isn't closing, it's just the area behind it... The Walt Disney Story Theatre. (Once again, the Expo Hall is simply the name of the store, it doesn't refer to the old theatres or the meet and greet areas.)
So, to recap:
The Storytime Experience is moving to Epcot. The Walt Disney Story Theater is closing to accommodate future character meet-and-greet experiences. Photo Sets for Magic Kingdom's Bippidi Boppidi Boutique will now take place inside Tinker Bell's Fairy Treasures. Tony's Town Square Restaurant, the Main Street Exposition Hall merchandise location, Disney's PhotoPass Corner and the Chase Visa desk will all remain open.
And semantics. Same building, no other name for the theater, it's still the Expo Hall. Seriously, it is not a big deal, just let it go.
No I remember why I avoid posting my thoughts/opinions in here. :(
Two things I wonder about the Duelling Dumbos...
1. The spinners in the model look more similar to the original design than to the DLP-inspired redo. Would they go back to that older look (which still exists at TDL today, and which IMO actually wouldn't look back within context of the adjacent bigtop), or will there be two spinners with the newewer design?
2. Will Dumbo still be as popular when it moves to its new location? I think the popularity of this ride derives at least in part from its current central location in Fantasyland.
good questions, but I think its just a model. I would imagine it would be the Dumbo you see now. In fact in the art work, it very much appears to be including water at the base of the attractions.
yes, I think Dumbo will remain popular. For reasons I cannot explain, this carnival ride is the one carnival ride that for whatever reason, resonates as a quintessential Disney attraction.
No quite! Your frustration is also what makes it interesting. Our banter re if country homes mean vacation homes was fun and interesting. I didn't agree with your interpretation, and I am still interested in Bill citing any one of the "countless Imagineering books and videos that clearly state the fact that Mickey and the gang live in Toontown in California, but they visit the country homes in Florida".
That said, I agree with you on this. the BUILDING is Exposion Hall, not the store. When the meet and greets open, and guests ask where to meet mickey... they are going to be directed to Exposition Hall.
