No more candy being given away at Japan pavillion

Looking for confirmation as I"m not sure how great the source is...

But I have heard that while they are still doing the candy demonstration in front of the Japan pavilion, they are no longer allowed to give the candy away to kids. Apparently a WDW health inspector (?) made that decision, and not a county official. For some reason it isn't ok anymore. Lame if it is as true as it seems!

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Regardless of who made that decision, is is correct. The candy lady is still making candy in the Japan pavilion, but she is not giving it to any of the Guests.

No offense meant... i just wasn't aware that WDW had their own health inspectors.

Assuming it's because 1) it's a food item and 2) she's not wearing any gloves when she makes them. I wouldn't be surprised if a Guest complained about it or something.

    Either way, it sucks.

It really has to do with health issues. They don't want candy being given to a diabetic child.

yes...and parents can't be trusted to tell their diabetic child not to eat it. Then, Disney would have a lawsuit on their hands,

One probably complained that the lady gave her diabetic child a piece of the candy and they had to listen to the kid whine all day because it couldn't eat it.

Sadly, I bet most children don't eat it. I have seen numerous walking around, holding it up proudly and guarding it with their lives. LOL

Lol, yeah, I never ate mine. I kept for it for nearly a year.

Can they not just tell people not to eat them? Print 'Not for Consumption' on the baggies or something?

Re: No more candy being given away at Japan pavillion

At least they still do the demonstration of the candy making which I always enjoy watching. More likely it was someone who complained (or continued complaints) for various reasons, some of which have already been mentioned here.

Sadly I think a more likely reason could also have been a complaint from an entitled parent, who was upset that their spoiled child didn't get one. Only about 5-6 kids get selected at each demonstration to choose which animal shape they would like. So to resolve that no one gets anything.

It is still a cool demonstration to see. I enjoyed watching it last time I was there.
