Contemporary Resort

For my next stay at the Contemporary, I'd love for the room to be cutting- edge (at least updated every decade) I think it would be awesome to have large digital picture frames in your room that do a slide show of photos from your day taken by Photopass.

I'd like for the room to feature two televisions. One for the kids with wireless headphones and one tv for the adults.

I'd like Sharper Image or Hammacher Schlemmer to let me borrow their gadgets for an hour or so.

I'd like the futuristic toilets that many hotels in Japan have.

I'd like the tv, lights, bath, a/c to be voice-operated. Your room's voice butler could be the character voice of your choice.

I'd like the windows to use liquid crystals to become opaque.

I'd like there to be LED's along the crown molding and baseboards so that you can control the colors of the walls.

I'd like a massage chair with foot massage.

I'd like the the ceiling and railings of the Grand Canyon Concourse to be outfitted with fiber optics so that at night, light levels are lowered and the whole place looks like a star field.

With the economy the way it is the legendary tightfisted money people at Disney are going to be even tighter.... like we thought THAT was possible !

The ideas are awesome, and it is what I think Disney was suppose to be all about. I think Walt wanted it to always be cutting edge. He wanted all of Disney to be what everyone else was ALWAYS chasing. Unfortunately the people running the show since Walt passes are more worried about cash flow than staying ahead of the pack.

So true. I really like that the Contemporary wasn't just themed "contemporary" its construction WAS contemporary. Tomorrowland was a showcase for what could be. WEDway is a great example.

Great ideas, for sure, but I'm afraid that if these improvements were to ever come about, the prices for a stay at the CR would skyrocket even higher than they already are, thus ending any slim chance my family ever has of staying there.

That's the kicker, you won't notice the change until nighttime. What if they had it on a timer so that the starfield effect only happened every 15 min. Can I do it now?

yes these ideas would be pretty cool, but they may have to be phased in...otherwise it may drive costs up all around the property because the costs weren't exactly budgeted for
