Monsters Inc. 2 On Track! How about new coaster?

Wow! So now that Monsters Inc. 2 has been confirmed for a release date of November 16th, 2012, what does this mean for Hollywood Studios? Since the Monsters Inc. roller coaster was put aside indefinitely, I believe this news could be quite good. Perhaps the new movie will bring this idea back on the forefront. Could we be seeing a 2012 or 2013 completion date?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Toy Story 3, Cars 2, and now Monsters Inc. 2. The only original story is Brave which will also be released in 2012. However, I have complete confidence in Pixar and know that they wouldn't go ahead with a story unless it was flawless. I'm very excited for Monsters Inc. 2 and can't wait to find out more about the story.

Same here! And I think a new rollercoaster would be great- let's just hope no other rides would be down because of it if/when they build it.

Exactly, I'm all for the new coaster as long as they don't screw it up or get rid of something good. I'm thinking they would most likely theme it around the door chase scene at the end of the movie, but there could be more possibilities with the new movie. Also, Pixar Place was made for Pixar rides so I would assume that's where the coaster would go. TDO could either try and fit it into an existing building in that area or get rid of the Studio Tram Tour, which has been predicted to be let go of anyway.

3 of the next 4 films Disney announced Pixar are working on are all sequels.

All I can say is that I love Monsters Inc. and would love a roller coaster as oppose to nothing. The door chase scene is just too perfect of a fit for a coaster. Also, it would be much better than the dark ride that California Adventure has.

But when did the Monsters Inc. or Crush Coaster or whatever it was going to be at MGM get sidelined?

Yeah Newt is either gone or it has been delayed to 2013 and further on. It was not mentioned at all in the recent press conference.

I would like a Monsters Inc. coaster. Honestly, I'd like any sort of improvement at the Studios.

Especially if it gets MILF out of MK. I'd even be fine if they just moved the LF into DHS, because I hate how it is in Tomorrowland. It's almost a worse fit than the High School Musical Pep Rally.
