Definitive MiceChat list of Magic Kingdom Attractions from A to E

With all the discussions about E-Ticket this, and E-Ticket that, and C-Tickets here and there, I think it would be fun, if we could come up as a community, our own list of what attractions at WDW we consider A to E tickets, in the hopes that we can create a definitive list for us all to use in the future.

Ok so to start the discussion off I am going to list the attractions in their respective tickets catagory, from the official tickets in 1971(?) (list found here)

    A Tickets
    -Omnibus
    -HorseCars
    -Main Street Vehicles
    -Cinderella's Golden Carousel

    B Tickets

    -Frontierland Shootin' Gallery
    -Mike Fink Keel Boats
    -Swiss Family Island Treehouse

    C Tickets
    -Grand Prix Raceway
    -Dumbo the Flying Elephant
    -Peter Pan's Flight
    -Snow White's Adventure
    -Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
    -Made Tea Party
    -Explorer Canoes

    D Tickets
    -WDW Railroad Trains
    -Skyway to Fantasyland/Tomorrowland
    -Flight to the Moon
    -Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat

    E Tickets
    -It's a Small World
    -20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
    -Country Bear Jamboree
    -The Jungle Cruise
    -The Hall of Presidents
    -The Haunted Mansion

Ok now that is the old list... But how should we organize the park the way it is now?
I am going to list out the attractions, and if you will just go through and assign them a letter hopefully we can come to a consensus.

    -"It's a small world"
    -Astro Orobiter
    -Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
    -Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    -Country Bear Jamboree
    -Donald's Boat
    -Dumbo the flying elephant
    -Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
    -Jungle Cruise
    -Liberty Square Riverboat
    -Mad Tea Party
    -Main Street Vehicles
    -Mickey's Country House
    -Mickey's PhilharMagic
    -Minnie's Country House
    -Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
    -Peter Pan's Flight
    -Pirates of the Caribbean
    -Prince Charming Regal Carousel
    -Snow White's Scary Adventure
    -Space Mountain
    -Splash Mountain
    -Stitches Great Escape
    -Swiss Family Treehouse
    -The Barnstormer
-The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management
    -The Hall of Presidents
    -The Haunted Mansion
    -The Magic Carpets of Agrabah
-The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    -Tom Sawyer Island
    -Tomorrowland Speedway
    -TTA Peoplemover
    -Walt Disney World RailRoad
    -Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

So if this goes well with MK, we can do the rest of the parks.

Re: Definitive MiceChat list of Magic Kingdom Attractions from A to E

Peter Pan while not an "E" ticket on presentation does have some of the longest lines due to capacity.

So following the law of supply and demand is the reason I elevated it

Same reason Dumbo got a bump over Magic Carpets

And Astro Orbiter's speed and awkward entry bumped it also over Magic Carpets despite the 3 being virtually the same ride

Interesting that Small World was an "E" ticket

I'd consider all the walking tours and "A" ticket and transportation beyond main street a "B" at best

Philharmagic is the show that I would bump to "E"

Re: Definitive MiceChat list of Magic Kingdom Attractions from A to E

There always seems to be inconsistency in these lists as everybody has different standards for judging an attraction.

For me, an A-ticket would be basic transportation vehicles (cars and trolleys) and simple exploration nooks (such as Tarzan's Treehouse and the Toontown buildings).

A B-ticket would be slightly more grander but still simple- perhaps a larger scale walkthrough or a more elaborate transportation system that includes unique sights (the Railroad).

A C-ticket for me would include the basic carnival attractions. Dumbo, Teacups, and the old-fashioned dark rides with cut-out sets would fall into this category.

A D-ticket would include slightly newer dark rides with enhanced effects (like Monsters Inc at DCA) and all sit-down shows (3D ones and AA shows like Tiki Room and Country Bear Jamboree).

An E-ticket is anything that appears to be grand in scale and scope. These attractions usually have a detailed backstory, an elaborately themed queue, and a ride experience that includes impressive and immersive show scenes. These attractions are notable in that the scale of theming is visible right away from the moment you see them. They are usually the most popular attractions and often have incredible and attractive show buildings to lure guests from afar.

Well please go through the list, and make your judgement calls so we can all come to a unified understanding!

I agree. I was wondering how this can be the definitive list, since it seems there are some inconsistencies.

Well how it is going to work... is we are going to take an attraction like Big Thunder Mountain... if everyone says it is an e-ticket then it is an e-ticket... but then with it's a small world we will look at all the votes... and then maybe use a poll to specifically determine that attraction.

i think you could give each letter a numerical value

    I'm thinking

    a-1
    b-2
    c-3
    d-4
    e-5

and we average them out then round

after obviously filtering crack pot votes (i.e splash Mountain is an A ticket because i got wet or Tiki birds is an e ticket because i love gilbert gottfried's voice)

I wish there was some attraction that could be a freebie... Like "If You Had Wings." Basically, a commercial.

    I think it's important that there's a balance. Not all E-tickets, not all C-tickets.

Re: Definitive MiceChat list of Magic Kingdom Attractions from A to E

I'm a "hard grader" when it comes to these rankings. This is my system:

    A-ticket: Arcade; or minor exhibit

B-ticket: Any spinner (Dumbo); or simple transport (Main St. Vehicles); or short walkthrough (Swiss Family Treehouse)

C-ticket: Short dark ride with minimal queue (Peter Pan); or medium-sized theatrical production (Philharmagic); or elaborate walkthrough (Tom Sawyer Island); or alternative, lightly-themed transportation (Speedway, Riverboat, Peoplemover)

D-ticket: Lengthier, more elaborate dark ride with moderately-themed queue and no pre-show (Small World, Jungle Cruise, upcoming Mermaid) or large, complex theatrical production (Alien Encounter, American Adventure). In my system, a theatrical production can never (yet) be considered an "E-ticket".

E-ticket: Heavily-themed, lengthy dark-ride with elaborate queue and/or pre-show (Haunted Mansion); or heavily-themed, major thrill ride (the Mountain range)

    So here's the list:

    D -"It's a small world"
    B -Astro Orobiter
    E -Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
C -Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    C -Country Bear Jamboree
    A -Donald's Boat
    B -Dumbo the flying elephant
    A -Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
    D -Jungle Cruise
    C -Liberty Square Riverboat
    B -Mad Tea Party
    B -Main Street Vehicles
    B -Mickey's Country House
    C -Mickey's PhilharMagic
    A -Minnie's Country House
    C -Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
    C -Peter Pan's Flight
    D/E -Pirates of the Caribbean
    B -Prince Charming Regal Carousel
    C -Snow White's Scary Adventure
    E -Space Mountain
    E -Splash Mountain
    D -Stitches Great Escape
    B -Swiss Family Treehouse
    C -The Barnstormer
C -The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management
    D -The Hall of Presidents
    E -The Haunted Mansion
B -The Magic Carpets of Agrabah
C -The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    C -Tom Sawyer Island
    C -Tomorrowland Speedway
    C -TTA Peoplemover
C -Walt Disney World RailRoad (Disneyland's with dioramas would be a D)
D -Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
